Call was from KOHL'S Corporate office wanting me to call them back. We owe them money, BUT have told them 4 times that we are using the service of a debt consolidation service to help us repay. They don't give a damn and are calling us 6 to 8 times a day, 7 days a week!

Don't P On My Leg and Tell Me It's Rain-
I HEAR you. I went through the same thing with Kohl's several years ago, when I was out of work on STD and drawing only 60% of my salary. They and these other debt collectors don't give a flying fig if you are lying in the gutter with all four limbs chopped off. THEY WANT THEIR MONEY. PERIOD. The only way I was able to get rid of them was to file for Bankruptcy.

This is people trying to scam money! I was sent a letter from Cap One with an incorrect address/state with this phone number as the contact number to 'Capital One'. The letter stated it was a cancellation of debt which I do not owe! Do not give these people money!

If this is a collection call like the other posts suggest then no, it is not Kohl's calling you it would be the bank that issued the credit card.  I have to wonder why you dredged up this dormant thread 5 years later to make your post?

I received a random voicemail from "Kohl's" today. Thinking that maybe someone I know is using me as a reference for a job, I called the 800-815-6457 number they gave in the vm. Automated system came up and thanked me for calling, but when it got to the Kohl's part, you could tell it wasn't the original greeting. A live person answered, but the connection was terrible. Explained I received a vm from them & was returning their call. This woman (at least I think it was a female, the connection was so bad I could barely make out what they were saying to me) asked for my name, which I gave. Then she asked me to repeat my 1st & last name, which I again gave her. Adter a couple minutes of just static, I asked if she was still on the line. She then told me the information I gave her didn't match their system. When asked why they had called, she told me she couldn't give me that info because I'm not the right person. I asked,  "in general, why would Kohl's contact a random person?" I was met with silence. I asked again about reasons for random calls, no response. I even told her I understnd she can't give specifics on this case sine the info is wrong, butbto just five me a reason or 2 why soneine might get a random call & be asked to call this # back. Again, she said nothing. I finally asked if this was a scam, and that got a reaction from her. She started to yell at me (or at least it seemed, again the connection was very loud static with even louder background noise) about howbthey are legitimate not scammers. I asked her to help me to understand or I'd have no choice but to report this as a scam. The line went dead, not sure if it was on purpose or if the bad connection finally gave up.

I do not believe this is Kohl's. I don't buy things there. I may try something on, but I go where things are cheaper. So, if you get a call from 903-593-0589, or if you are asked to call Kohl's back at 800-815-6457, do not give out your personal information as this is likely some sort of scam. Plus, when you google the callback number, a lot of attorney names pop-up regarding "Kohl's."

Yes, attorney's doing debt collection work.  However this was most likely a collection call and they simply called the wrong phone number.  I know that is a bit hard for you to understand since you think that companies call random people but that is what happened.

The company that called you.
