Picked up a message wanting to verify employment and asking me to call this number back.  The accent was weird.

Unable to understand - say they are verifying employment but them start to question whether we are following DOT regs.....what????  I would beware!!!!!

Had to replay the voice message a female caller left.  I listened to the message about five times.  Could not understand her name or the company she was calling for.  Said she needed to verify employment for a past employee.  Caller did very well on number pronunciation.  The message was turned over to our Human Resource Manager.

Call came in from 918-621-1131.

Who, I sincerely hope, does not respond to phone calls for verifications.  I'm sure they require a written request, along with a signed authorization from the employee before anyone there gives out any information at all, including whether or not they ever worked there at all.  This is a rather unfortunate pfishing scam to try and get personal information about folks to be used to try to scam them or steal identities.

Legit company (our person gave us a heads up about the background check).  I just couldn't understand a word she was saying!  I'm guessing it was Hire Right.

First of all, I can't understand the accent, they speak really fast. If you do call back, the phone rings once, then you get a busy signal. Be aware! By the way, this is not the proper way for verification.

Received a voice-mail from 1-800-844-3586 asking if we received their fax (we didn't) for verification of employment for a person that is not employed with us. I had very difficult time understanding the message and had to replay it several times. I called back to tell them that we did not get a fax and the person in question does not work here, but the phone just keep ringing. I must have let it ring 20 times before I hung up.

We received 3 calls in one day from this number on our VM from 3 different women. It was very difficult to understand them with their accent. They all followed the same message format of saying the persons name, etc, but when we called them back the number was a busy signal... was not the right way to get employment varification in PA

These are phishing people....Called to verify employment and asked if the guy took a DOT Drug Test..DOT does not give drug tests....Wish our government would do something against these criminals besides folks writing on websites.

DOT does not administer drug tests but they are required. Anyone carrying a CDL license must get drug tested and they must be in a randomized drug screening pool through either they company they are working for or, at the company's discretion, a third party service provider.

Fraudulent calls, foreign operators attempting to get information on individuals.  These are not authorized calls.  Do not respond, hang up and block the number.

These people are calling from HireRight, its a third party background screening company. You can also check their website at www.hireright.com. Its legit. I researched about this company because im also getting a lot of phone calls from them

when they didn't understand what home health care was I knew something was horribly wrong.

Not only was she really stupid in asking questions, but couldn't answer simple questions as to the real reason for calling me. also called on work phone! total scam, i've blocked the #.

Caller to my employer trying to verify employment using my name.

That website doesn't appear to be a working website.

Same as others except she also sent an email with attachments and said she had to have info back by tomorrow. No way am I opening those attachments!

This is scam call, she claimed calling from HireRight with strong accent, I checked Hireright number is 866-521-6995 and it does not match her number.

L/M for verification of employment for employee who didn't work for us.

Called back, sounded legit till I asked the guy, who I could barely understand, what website did this supposed employee who I’m supposed to verify use? He wouldn’t tell me unless I gave him our business number, name, or her name. I asked him 3 times which website, he put me on hold. I hung up. Sounds like fraud to me. Btw, person they were checking on has no idea and didn’t use any company to help her get another job.
