getting phone calls from the number.

I keep getting messages for some one who doesn't live here.  
I called back - it is Nelson, Watson and Associates - a collection agency.
The representative said she would remove my number from their list after asking if the person they were seeking lived here.

I demanded the address of Nelson, Watson and Associates and was told it was: 80 Merrimac Street, Haverhill, MA 01830. The rep didn't seem happy to give it to me -- but the Fair Debt Collection Act obliges them to give you their address. They HAVE TO STOP CALLING YOU IF YOU SEND A LETTER TELLING THEM TO-
according to the Federal Trade Commission Fair Debt Collection Law -- see
www.ftc.gov/bep/edu/pubs/consumer/credit. They have to stop calling you after the letter even if you owe the debt.

i got a call from the number demanding money for a old debt, when i explained that we were trying to get our debts in order and if i could have his information he got all mad and said if i wasnt ready to settle the debt that he was going to take me to court FINE!!!! my wife is a soldier in the u.s. army, we incurred this debt before her enlistment and have been paying off bad debt since she enlisted... we have two debts left come the middle of next yr.. this one and another.... these people will try to scare you into doing whatever... i dont scare AT ALL... i told him to take me and my family to court but make she he had his facts straight cause i know longer have the same address and if he wanted money for his "client" that purchased bad debt from citi-bank in the first place he'd sit back and wait like the rest of them and get 1/4 to a 1/3 or what he bought it for.... tellem to eat yellow snow!

They called from a 617 area code number and I let voice mail get it.  No message.  They called back 30 minutes later. Again, no message.  I looked them up and it's Nelson Watson.  Today, this 800 number called.  I figured it was them.  I hardly use my landline number and not many people even have it.  They asked for "Denise".  That's not my name.  Told him he had a wrong number and he hung up.  I have only had my home number for 6 months, so they are obviously looking for the previous owner of the number.  Great.

I have no outstanding debts - yet get these calls daily.  I do not answer due to messages others have relayed about nature of callers and reputation.  Nuisance.

the 5 numbers mentioned by BAS are the same ones that I get these calls from also. very annoying - again, i have no debt so they have to be looking for someone else but do not bother saying anything even if i pick up the call.

for everyone, please file complaints with the national do not call registry if you're on it like i am. they also suggest to file a complaint with the FTC here:
