This is indeed a scam.  The car they sent us a notice on was totalled 3 months ago.  They claim to be legit but they are not.  BUYER BEWARE! If they were real wouln't they have their name on the notice sent saying warranty expired.  Expired, ha, the whole car is expired.  LOL

I just got a letter today with all the ingredients everyone mentioned here.  It appears that it is from NAVISS though it has no name and return address in the front.  The content is a WARNING for it's 2ND ATTEMPT to notify me of a vehicle warranty which is about to expire.  The letter looks official and yet so arrogant and threatening. It appears that it changed the toll-free number to 1-800-483-1759.

They claim to be at 10176 Corp. Square Drive, St. Louis.  They are careful to say THEY are not the ones paying the claim.  Who is?  THEY WON'T TELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is such a weak con, i'm surprised anybody is stupid enough to send money.

Actually, they are Legit and I was actually invited to visit their inbound call facility. They were very kind, and legitimate. No issues with the State of Missouri. I would agree that their Marketing company does have some quirks, though.

I called the number (800.483.1759). I asked two questions. The first question was are you part of NMAC, and the second was how did you get my information?  The response was that they were not part of NMAC.  The answer to the 2nd question is what really bothered me.  They would not give me a specific answer on how they retrieved my information.  "Matt" spoke about not being a part of the marketing department. He went on to say that my info may have come from a transfer of title. HOGWASH! I've been the only owner of my vehicle.  When I pressed the issue with "Matt" he asked if I wanted my vehicle to be protected and that I needed to focus on getting extended coverage. My response to him was that my focus was on how the company received my info. "Matt" changed his tone - it was no longer the nice guy but he seemed to be bothered by me pressing the issue. He finally put me on hold to contact someone who 'knew' how my information was received by NAVISS.

I ended the call after being on hold for several minutes.

Yep, NAVISS is one of the bad ones.  They are high pressure when they get you on the phone.  But they are not directly responsible for paying you when something happens.
Don't go with them unless you have extra cash in your pocket. Trust me, it will cost you more over the long run going with NAVISS then paying it out of the pocket or going to the bank to get a loan to pay for repairs.

I received the notice from NAVISS as well, on the car I bought brand new in 2007, telling my my warranty was expiring next month.  I DO have an extended warranty, but it's through another company and doesn't expire until 2014.

I too have the 1-800-483-1759 number, and would like to know how they got my information.

.I am a Naviss customer, and after reading some of the post here needless to say I became concerned.  My dealings with Naviss is costing me $1700.00 hard earned dollars.  I grilled them over severial issues and even told them that if I wasn't happy with their responses I would be taking my business else where.  Yall don't know me, but I'm no dummy and I have 55 years experiance on this earth.  I'll end saying I'm keeping my contract with Naviss as is.  Are there going to be issues to arise that I won't be happy with them, probably.  That's the pleasure we get for living in today's times.  The customer is no longer "always right" that's how it use to be, back when above all Sears & Robuck doors was the promise, "Satisfaction Guaranteed".  Have you niticed, they took that down. Go Figuer.  Spend your money, role the dice, and take your chances. There are no more guarantees

These asshats sent "Legal" looking documents to my home but under my brother's name.  I called him after getting repeated mail for him from these schmucks.

On the front of the Envelope Read:

    "2nd ATTEMPT.
    REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
WARNING:  $2,000 FINE, 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH FOR ANY PERSON INTERFERING OR OBSTRUCTING WITH DELIVERY OF THIS LETTER.  U.S. MAIL TTT.18 U.S. CODE"

Now let's examine this a little further, shall we?  These pissants sent my brother's mail to my house, unsolicited, several times, and put threatening legal jargon on the front.  Of course when I phoned my brother, he said he already knew what it was and told me to open it, so I did.

It was a sales pitch to purchase an already [***] warranty on an already [***] American car that has only 40,000 miles on it and has broken down 3 times.

My brother said that they are con artists and to shred it, which I will be doing right after I post this.

They have a D+ Rating at the BBB with 28 Complaints.  Here is the link.

Ok, unfortunatly I did not see this until I had already called Naviss.  Like other people here, very high pressureed.  I had to talk to an "authorization supervisor" that asked questions about my vehicle, then went back to MIKE.  Mike first started out with $3,384 for a five year policy.  No, I said, so then he put me on hold and went to talk to his supervisor.  Then he came down to $2,734.  I still said no and in the mean time I googled the phone number and came up with this blog.  Of course now it is REALLY no, so I tell MIKE that is am not interested right now and then he tells me to hang on while he transfers me to his "low risk department" and they can give me an even better rate.  While that transfer happens, I hang up the phone.  Now I have it off the hook cause they have my number and I dont want to deal with them.   Thanks so much for the Heads Up here folks.   What made me call was when I got the envelope in the mail, it appeared as if it came from Nissan which is where I bought my vehicle and my warranty does go out in two months so I thought it was from them.  I would have never called if I thought it was some 3rd party scam and not Nissan.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
