- Shirley replies to FinisterThank u! I said the same thing to her when she called. I asked her what company she said she couldn't tell me til I answered her questions, I hung up.
- AReceived a call from this number and no one answered
- Teresa DeCrescenzo| 1 replyA live caller from this number asked to speak with me, by correct name. I acknowledged, and then she said that "for security reasons, I have to verify your address." I responded that, if you're calling me, you can say the address and I'll affirm, but I'm not giving you my address - not that my addresss would be hard to find online, but my point is that a business should already have the address. She said that she has "a matter" she needs to speak with me about, that requires address verification. I declined, and she said, "you have a nice day," and disconnected.
- DarrelReceived call, based on previous comments, I did not answer. No voicemail was left.
- PattiThey called my son in law asking for me. He gave the address and they said no it’s the wrong one. I called back she said can you confirm the number we called no you called it you should already have it. She said well I can’t proceed with this phone call I said sounds good and hung up.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them so that they can scare that person into paying extortion money. They will usually also state information that would be illegal for a real debt collector to state to department and tell them that you are a deadbeat who does not pay their bills. They often call people that have never even been a third party such as that you are being sued, that you owe money to someone, etc. They threaten that if you do not call them back, they will contact your HR associated with you because they get erroneous information off the internet.
You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

As well as the PA AG’s Office: https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/Quick_Links/P ... omplaint_Forms/ - B. Rewis replies to Teresa DeCrescenzoI just got a call from this number. Like Theresa, I told the caller that I was B. Rewis. She indicated that "for security reasons, I need to verify your address. Could you give that to me?" I told her, "You called me, you have my address. You give it to me, and I'll confirm or deny what you have." She said, "Well, since you won't give me that information, I have to end this call." She hung up first. At least it's not like one call where I sat barking like a dog for ten minutes to annoy the scammer. Incidentally, they never called back.
- cleone barkerThey called and couldn't pronounce my name right and said something about being a collection agency. They asked for my address and I told them I don't owe anyone anything. I asked them who it was from and they told me they couldn't tell me until I gave them my address. I hung up on them and looked this number up on the web.
- Caller: collection agency
- Call type: Debt collector
- M. BarrowI blocked the number months ago because it had no caller ID which I do to all calls that come in on any of my phones with no caller ID. I'm retired so I think I will start making some *67 calls to them. My phones have all been on the National Do Not Call Registry. The first one on 5/7/2006 landline yes I still have one and my last cell 7/29/2008. Now I still get robo, telemarketers and all kinds of calls.I don't know if it does any good but, I've been logging the calls since I retired and there have been a ton so good luck. I just BLOCK THEM!
