    That Guy Dave
The number belongs to Capital One but is being spoofed by scammers. They offer to reduce your credit card rates to 0% forever and to try and forgive some of your debit. All they need from you is your credit card number, expiration date, code from the back of the card, your zip code and social security number. Of course the real credit card companies already have all of your info.

Caller ID showed call was from Capitol One.  I have no business with them and based on other reports this is a scam type call.  I Googled the number and all that came up were various scam reports. Blocked this number along with the 1000+ other numbers I had to block in the last year or so.

Recorded voice said it was about my credit card and they had made numerous attempts to contact me. They did not give a name and I hung up before the message was over. I do not have a credit card with Capital One or anyone else. Blocked the #. Scam.

This is a scan spoofing Capital One's number. Claims to be the corporate headquarters of Visa AND MasterCard. Last I heard, these are 2 different companies.

Since I don't deal with Capitol One I already knew it was a scam call before I picked up the phone but I was curious as to how they are presenting the scam now.  These guys have no immagination at all.  It was the same old boring message.  "This is an important message regarding your current credit card account we have made several attempts to reach you. this is your final courtesy call before we are unable to lower your credit card interest rate. Press one to speak to the Member Services Department or press 2 and your eligibility to lower your rate will expire."  Now I've got to get a cup of coffee to wake myself up.

Called today.  Caller ID said Toll Free Number.  Man said due to my excellent credit score, they are authorized to lower the interest rates on all credit cards I have with financial institutions.  (Man stated they are the company that created the cards for all banks in the first place.) I asked for the name of his company - he didn't say - just wanted to verify information for reductions.  I stated - 'Well, if you are who you say, you need no info from me.'  I then hung up.  An obvious scam - I have in the past received this type of call from other numbers.

Credit card SCAM.  Female recording, started off "This is the alert system with Visa MasterCard Account Services System... important changes to your account before next filing cycle... congratulations on your payment history... qualify for zero percent interest on all your credit cards." Again, a SCAM using many numbers.  Ironically, the last time this number called me was Feb 27, 2018, so I guess I am lucky.
