We received a robocall this morning just before I got into the office. It was a robocall saying the following:

"This is an important call from AT&T regarding your telephone account:" followed by our number, and then adding, "Please contact us concerning your account," and giving this same number as the callback number.

Nowadays, there's no way to know whether calls like this are legitimate or spoofed in an attempt to defraud people.

We received another call & automated message the next day (the 15th). We got yet another call just now, so I answered it. this time, somebody was on the other line asking to speak to the person in charge of the account.

On one hand, if it's true this number is in fact a legit number, this-and the ensuing conversation-makes senses. However, the exact same verbiage is used by companies claiming to be AT&T when they really aren't. So I'm not sure if this is a legitimate call or someone trying to pose as AT&T wanting account details for nefarious purposes.

Anyways, I told the caller that person was unavailable, so she asked me to leave a message with this same number as the call back. i asked what this was regarding to include it with my message, and she said she couldn't give any details. Again, logical if a legitimate call, but also the same tactic used by illegitimate ones, too.

If it is in fact a debt collection call, it's odd they're calling us for payment when our current bill just arrived in today's mail.

I received a few of these calls and it IS from ATT. I haven't been receiving any statements so I thought it automatically deducted from my card. Turns out my service was down so they called to remind me to pay.

Got the same message from them which was weird because we are on Autopay with our CC. But our credit card expired so I had to update the card

If this is a legitimate AT&T call, why did caller say she was calling about my account (my telephone number) and provide a number that isn't mine ?

Calls every few days and hangs up when I answer.  The caller ID states AT T.

They call every day and hang up as soon as I answer.  I dont owe ATT any money so its not them, most likely a scam call.  Do not call the number back.

I keep getting calls from this number and other 800 numbers like it every day so far this week. This one left an automated message for the first time telling me I need to press 1 to connect with a Social Security officer. Obviously a scam

My office gets these when our payment is late.  It's legit AT&T automated call line.  I don't think an actual person, but one of those robocalls "this is AT&T blah blah".

ATT calling with a robot. The we called them back, they did not know why they called but kept asking about childhood heroes.

I answered the call into our agency with usual message and was met with silence from the other end. I repeated the greeting twice and then hung up.No time to deal with these people.

Call from ATT Uverse saying that they have an important message regarding my account.    Funny, I don't have ATT and have not had it in 7-8 years.    Sounds like a scammer to me.  Caller ID says "ATT Texas Payment Arrangements or Amount Due"

Multiple robocalls with message that with caller ID "A T & T Texas" saying that my office number is about to be disconnected for non-payment.  Oddly, that number was ported away from ATT over 5 years ago.  I called ATT and the automated system couldn't locate the number in question so I'm sure now that it is a scammer.
