- IhatetelemarketersStupid, stupid, stupid clerical workers at the state of michigan who dont know what the f they are doing, robo calling all sorts of numbers "in search of" people they can't find. Why dont' these people get a real, productive job insead of being leaches on society? Maybe because they are too stupid to be hired by anyone but a blood sucking state government. Don't answer, it will just encourage them.

- JimClaim to be from the state of Micihgan regarding a "personal business matter" then asks for a person I never heard of.
Very persistent and will spoof or block their caller ID in order to bypass any blocks put on their number.- Call type: Prank
- Got itGot it on our work phone, looking for the same thing "a personal busness matter from MI"
Oh, greatings from California. lol - TaxesThis number belongs to a collection agency that handles delinquent taxes owed to the state of Michigan. I know this from personal experience (tax preparer messed up paperwork, state thinks I owe). The number was given to me by the Michigan Department of Treasury's Collection Division.
- Call type: Debt collector
- jimmie johnsoncalled stating they were from mi dept of treasury and wanted me to verify personal info by phone. un-ethical, use mail like the rest of the govt. agencies
- Caller: mi dept of treasury????
- RonActually they say they're calling "...on behalf of the State of Michigan.." instead of from the State, a dead giveaway it's a typical collector trying to sound official. Ask them where they're calling from, by law they're supposed to tell you the name of the collection company. I've reported these folks to the state A.G. before and got an apology letter saying I wasn't the [my name] they were stalking.

- DJ| 2 repliesThat is the number that handles collections for the State of Michigan, unfortunately I know this by personal experience when I owed unpaid back taxes to the state and had a levy.

- Question replies to DJ| 1 replyInteresting. People look things up because they want to know more or because they simply don't know. Yet you knew everything there is to know about this phone number but looked it up anyway. Now why would you do that?
- TonyThey use many different phone numbers, some are selected to appear to be "local" calls. They have called me from area code 202 (Wash DC) and suggested they were from the IRS and I needed to call before they preferred charges against me. Lies, lies, lies. They have been calling me for over a year. Hundreds of calls and they never ID themselves, always hang up. Except for one time. That's when I got the number 800-950-6227 and could research them.

- Larry Gene Pierce| 2 repliesHello, This past January 2022, we received a letter in the mail from the Dept of Michigan Treasury. They wanted us to pay some back sales taxes for an antique business my wife had back in 2015. We hadn't heard anything about back tax for 7 years. We believed we had taken care of all of that when we paid our taxes that year. Anyway, I called the number they gave me in the letter. I set up a monthly payment arrangement for the 5th of each month starting in Feb. 2022. I paid the first payment while I was still on the phone that day. I was told I would have to set up an automatic withdrawal acct for my bank for the rest of the payments. I tried to do that, but the site wouldn't let me do that. I tried several times with no luck. I finally called the dept of MI treasury to get assistance and they told me I had to call GS services a private collections service and gave me this number 800-950-6227. When I found out it was a private collections company, I looked around the internet and found all kinds of complaints about how the business handles their clients. Plus there were a lot of complaints of repeated calls of harassment and bitched payments by collection agency, putting the clients in jeopardy with the Treasury. I'm not sure what to do at this point? Any help would be much appreiciated. Thanks
- Caller: I got a letter first from MI tax Dept and told to call GS services.
- Susan replies to Larry Gene Pierce| 1 replyI was also called recently about a debt from 7 years ago
I don't know what to do it sounds totally authentic but I know that's what scammers can do
I had the same situation as you pretty much but I called the IRS and the agent told me there was no debt from 2015 - BigA replies to SusanIf this is a debt from Michigan State Revenue then why are you calling the IRS?
