Dominion East Ohio Gas called with a pre-recorded notification.

Pre recorded Call to advise of a Gas shut off because of Deliquent Bill

Left a message on my cell phone, but it was prerecorded, and was halfway through the message when it got to my voicemail, so I don't know who it was from. But it said something about having an unpaid bill. If it's from Dominion, it's a wrong number, because I don't have an account with them, and haven't had one for over 8 years!

Seems like FRAUD

I'm doing some research on what operation uses 800-950-7989 for a family friend. As like David my friend also doesn't have any service account with Dominion either.

It's to note that there were predatory mailers being sent trying to solicit account service that were never responded to and filed as possible fraud attempts. Now this number shows up.

I'm hearing a growing number of complaints about service slamming / cramming going on with utilities in a specific State. For which Dominion and first Energy are being noted as culprit / victim / violator quiet a bit in those growing number of instances / complaints.

Doing research Dominions number is being presented as 1-800-362-7557 and not 800-950-7989.

UPDATE:

In research I'm finding this 1-800-950-7989 is used by some delinquent bill or " reconnection " department at Dominion gas. However, in my friends case NEITHER any " reconnection " NOR any past due bill applies.
