It's from a "Collection Agency" going under the name of some bonehead named Richard D Seierstad @ 320-229-2403.
They sent me a fake "summons" in the mail. I called the court where it was from, and they had no record of it, and learned that "Collection Agency's" often go under Attorney names to sound intimidating.

FYI: if there is no signature from a Judge somewhere on the "court document" it's meaningless.

I got the same style fake summons in the mail for a 5 year old bill that's already been paid.

I guess the legal practice must be slow....

Richard D Seierstad "law office" contacted me with a fake summons. I had no idea why I received it. Turns out it was a medical bill that was never sent out to me, or my insurance. It went straight to collections.
They harassed me constantly while I was making calls all over town to figure out who I owed money to. There is a women there named Jericho Schultz 866-665-3146, she is the nastiest person I've had to deal with in along time.
    These people are terrible

OMG! The same thing happened to me also. But now, I've received a fourth letter from him saying that they're now going to garnish my wages. Should I be scared? Should I hire a lawyer? Or what should I do?

I received letters from the same guy for a while. Didnt think anything of them until I got a ntoice that my wages were going to be garnished the next week. I called the court house both in my town and in his trying to figure out if there was a judgement against me.  There was NOTHING on file. I called the office and talked to the same NASTY lady.  I had done some looking and found out that if I was on any type of assistance based on need from Social Services I was considered exempt from this garnishment.  She told me to send them a letter stating why I "thought" I was exempt from this.  I did this and they are STILL garnishing my wages and there is not yet a judgment on file anyware.  What do I do? I feel like they are doing SOMETHING wrong here but dont know what to do next!

I recently had most of my money garnished by this law office. I am puzzled as to how this happened so fast. I have been on the phone with his assistant Crystal for hours chasing my tail. I asked to speak with her supervisor and She was so rude that I hung up on her. I am extremely low income and need this money back. I feel like I have been robbed.

According to the Fair Debt Collections Act, Mr. Seirstad is in violation numerous times. 1. There is no provision of the law that allows a summons for collection. 2. The firm that operates primarily out of Sauk Rapids, MN is also falsely representing the state of Minnesota (and their clients) under fraudulent impersonation present in their "summons". In the state of Minnesota, there needs to be a factual case number, date of filing, the plaintiffs full name (entity or personal) and a certificate of delivery (filed with the state of MN). Furthermore, delivery can only apply to warrants, summons, and subpoenas. If you were subpeoned, there would be a county court file, plaintiff name and case #. If it were a summons, it would be both party names, court file number and date of actual hearing. In order to verify whether a court summons or subpoena exists, consult the following website:

In the intial drop down menu, choose “defendant name”. In the date range menu, set your choice for 1 year from today. If your name is not present, then you can be assured that it is a fake and this fraudulent misrepresentation will be considered a chargeable offense.
The impersonation of a government entity is a crime, much as impersonating a police officer or other official and is actually a felony. Fraudulently purporting a civil or legal action is a misdemeanor (compoundable) and civil litigation can also be sought.

Had my own run in with Richard D. Seierstad. He sent me a false summons to my doorstep. If you put a little political pressure on him he'll cave. Go to the www.startribune.com and search "hounded series" and read. I sent several letters 1 to the Attorney General's office, Senator Al Franken's office and other attorney's and legal foundations in that article. I would definately write to these people. They took action and now I got a letter from Seierstad's office to let me know that he will no longer be litigating me and he'll be off my back. The attorney General's office got to him and other Minnesota Legislators.
