Received multiple calls from this number.  It would ring one time and then hang up or when I didn't answer it went to voicemail and no message left .. just MINUTES of music playing and then it cut off.

I got a message on my office Voicemail...woman's voice said "Terry Tomes (sp) from American Express International payments" and asked me to "call her back at 8009661222 and her extension is #67414"...I have an active Amex so I called back.  

When I dialed, a woman who sounded remarkably like the heavy-smoker (Terry) that left me a message answered "American Express"...no IVR options, no chance to enter an extension, just a woman who answers on the first ring after a seemingly legit Amex greeting...this seems really fishy so far

so all I say is "I got a message from Terry" and the lady says "oh Terry is out today but if you give me the account number I can look it up"

Sure...American Express has a 5 digit extension scheme and I just got lucky that the person who answered happened to know Terry and that she's out today!!!

So I ask the lady how I can be sure she's really Amex, and she tells me she's with "American Express Foreign Payments" and starts selling me some International payments garbage...I questioned her again and she admitted that she doesn't actually know IF I have a relationship with Amex...

This may be a partner of AMEX but I hung up after her last comment...way to sketchy for me!!

Pretty sure its a scam...

This is a sales call to get you using them for all international payments.

They r actually legit they are contracted by amex

I called Amex, and they told me that this number is not associated with them.

I had a voice mail from this number when I came into work this morning.  Said it was American Express and they needed to talk to me about wires.  I googled the American Express and spoke with customer service rep Chris, he confirmed that this is not a real American Express number.

Said his name was Ralph and wanted to speak with whoever was in charge of our international wiring. When i asked who he was calling with he got nervous and only gave me his name. I had to ask a second time who he was calling with and he finally said Amex. He sounded way sketchy. I patched him through to the reception voicemail and they immediately hung up.

Called for the CFO regarding international payments. Considering we are domestic company that does business in only three counties, I very much doubt they were telling the truth. I asked what this was regarding. International payments. There was the sound of recording in the background. I told him not to call back. I doubt he'll actually refrain from calling.
