Idiot called for someone and could not tell what the call was regarding or what the company he works for does. He got disconnected. What a waste of time.

Caller was a female with a heavy Indian accent.  She asked to speak with my husband.  I asked if I could take a message and was told that she could only speak with him.  I asked what organization she was with and was informed "Filanis".  Again asked what this was in regards to and she hung up.  Approximately 5 minutes later, received another phone call from 312-614-1338.  This time a male was asking for my husband.  I asked what organization and was told "Silanis" but he would not tell me the nature of the call.  When my husband answered, the male said he had the wrong number and was trying to reach the DOD.

They just called me, sounded like an older white male and he said he was calling from the office of Shawn Sheek... He asked me for my name first and I verified, I hope they don't steal my information.... Does anyone know what these people are trying to do so I can cut them off at the pass???

I receive a call from 804-596-1074 asking for me by name.  I asked him "who's calling, please." and he gave the name Ted Stevens or something like that.  Sounded like perfect US English to me, but I don't know you, sir.

called this morning, did not answer, no voicemail.

Got 3 calls today, all with blank voicemails, one from this number:

The last one from 928.863.3364 left a very heavily accented, vague, barely understandable message about a job opportunity, which is consistent with what I hear on this board. Probably not legit - beware!

Call to work number, no message left

Called asking for my boss stating they had Seth Winestock from Art Solutions on the line. Told them my boss was not available, said they'd let Mr. Winestock know.

They are a lead-generation company.  they call to make sure the employee is at your company and they hang up. they sell their information to companies.  Zoom Info is a company that does this and they will call and call all day long.

They don't actually want to talk to the individual. They just want confirmation that the employee works at your company.  that is why they will hang up once you put them on hold.

female with indian accent named Jessica Smith, from the office of Kevin Kenny.  I have been playing this game with the same people for months.  asking to be removed does no good.  Apparently the Do not call list only applies to those IN the nation.

A gentleman called from this # asking for a specific employee.  I am almost sure he's called before, which is what prompted me to start asking questions of him.  The employee he asked for works in a call center as an engineer, so when this guy called, I asked him if his call was regarding a service issue.  He simply repeated that he was trying to reach "so and so".  I said, "That's fine, but my question to you was whether or not your calling regarding a service call."  He told me that he couldn't answer that.  I asked if his call was a personal business call and he told me again that he was not allowed to divulge such information.  I simply told him that if he cannot answer my questions then I cannot transfer his call.  He began to protest, but I hung up on him!

More of the same nonsense from these scammers. Calls asking for someone, won't say who they are or what the call is about.

I find it amazing that both of Tom Kelly's assistants called looking for people at the exact same time. I pointed this out to one of them who could only stammer.

There is a huge surge of scam calls coming from India, using a barrage of disposable US numbers.  They name a person by name that is either entirely made up, partially made up, or is correct.  They say they are calling on behalf of [another person's name] or on behalf of an organization whose name is known in the US.  They could be just list-building.  Or they could be ID thieves.  At any rate, they're not legit, their phone numbers don't lead to any credible businesses, and blocking their numbers seems to do not much good, because they try again day after day with different phone numbers.

A tell-tale sign of this scam: when you ask what it's regarding, they flatly refuse the reason for the call but instead keep insisting to talk to the recipient.

A little further research:  The same scam calls come from several exchanges throughout the US, but here are the phone numbers they seem to be using for Bowling Green, Virginia:

Strangely enough, the numbers ending 1072 and 1077 seem to involve the same sounding people (East Indian accents), but THOSE scams are about selling medical devices.   I haven't gone further back or forward in my research, beyond that.

Helen, I hope you're right that they're just list builders.  They're horrible, moral-less people, regardless.

Has been calling all week multiple times a day from various spoofed numbers. Their company name always changes depending on who they are talking to.

Just rec'd a call at 11:51 AM on 10/27/2016 from a male with a foreign accent asked if he was speaking to me, I said yes, then he said is this Dawson Construction, I replied no.  He and this number should be reported to federal authorities he and/or the organization are scammers.  The number is (804) 596-1074 with a Bowling Green, Virginia locale, presumably.

Called and no message left. Now blocked based on comments.

I have received calls from 804-596-1074,Bowling Green, VA. it is a land line number. When you call it back it rings busy. This number multiple times a day. I ask for more information and they say they are calling for someone who is looking to be connected. I am just about at the end of this game and next call, which no doubt will be at some point today, they will get blasted.

They will not stop!  I have got to the point of screaming at them and they will not stop!  They change their numbers too!  Why would anyone deal with a company like this?
