yep, just happened to me , too for Pilates Reformer. Then they tried again from 863-734-7136

Yup. Craigslist scam. Wanted all my info to send me a check for something I just posted.

Total Scam operation that use Craigslist to phish on text.  Ignore them.  Used the name "Robert"

I have a company that takes care of the pickup of my consignments for me and ship to my destination anywhere in the U.S.A, you do not worry about shipping, the company will send down a representative to arrange the sales documentation and the pick up from your end.
--Why can't you do PayPal?
The check is a a return for cancel order from a company and can only be drawn on a name that's the reason am paying you to cover you and shipper cos I don't have much time to run around depositing the check.. Get back to me with your info to mail the check to you asap and also send me some more picture of it for proper view... thanks

The key to that working for them is in the 24 hours.  Most people don't know that the funds being available and the check clearing are two completely different things.  Also, they use paypal and send fake emails as well.

I got a call from Steve trying to scam me on Craigslist from a similar number, 805-301-7422.  I have read that "Steve" has made calls from several 805-301-**** numbers with scams.

Just got a Text from Steve at 805-301-7422 trying to scam my craigslist ad LOL.
Steve has lots of numbers and is a very busy little boy lol.  Caller ID showed the Text came from someone named Candyce.

Same guy,  same scheme, different phone # (805-366-6818).  Ho0w can we get this guy off the street?

I hope people know by now to look up anything that sounds suspicious. Same scheme just got attempted on me. Different number though: (619)362-8678. Watch out anytime you're dealing with Craigslist.

Tried to pay me for a car with a certied check received the check and went to proceed to cash it and the check was fake just like I had expected the whole time. I went with it because I wasn't gonna be out anything didn't give any personal info.

Same scam and same guy. 424-279-6874. He still sent me the check after I told him I wasn't interested anymore. Got it in the mail today and don't plan on opening it.? RETURN TO SENDER!!!

The # used was 805-366-6528. They responded to an item I had on Craig's list wanting to send certified check and have a "shipper" pick it up. I suspected a scam so I googled his name and found this post. Thanks to the person posting about Stephen I didn't fall for this.

Same guy, same scheme. Fake check after inspection when it arrived. Don't waste your time. Numbers used: 424-252-7682 ; 424-283-5575
