Harrassment!

When you submit a complaint to donotcall.gov, this is the message that shows after you click submit:

"Do not call complaints will be entered into a secure online database available to civil and criminal law enforcement agencies. While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint will help the agency investigate the company, and could lead to law enforcement action."

So what is the point in making a complaint??

I keep getting calls from this number, how do I put it on do not call?

called me on a Thursday afternoon, didn't answer but googled #and found this page.

just got a call from someone named "Brian".  Does not give name of business he is working for or anything else?  He simply gives his first name and starts talking about some vague concept of making money by leaving others voice messages (sort of like he did).  I don't think I would like to be like "Brian" and annoy people, especially if they don't want these types of calls.  I too am on the DO NOT CALL list.

Received call 3:25 PM today...left no message.

Called twice within 15 min!!! I have stopped answering this number because the 2 times I have the line is completely silent! Did I mention I live in Canada and they call my personal cell! I am supposed to be on a do not call list but I am starting to doubt they even exist!

Called today with a pre recorded sales pitch that I did NOT listen to.Something about making $1000's of dollars.  I am on the DO NOT CALL list and I also pressed the number 9 which is supposed to stop the call in progress, but it did NOT stop this call. It just kept going!!!  I am PSSD! I get more calls than ever since being on the do not call list. This is an INVASION of my time and privacy!!!  Its time to stop these people!

Rules for handling these scam calls:  

1. Don't answer if you don't recognize the number (your parents taught you not to speak to strangers, right?). You won't hurt their feelings – they have no feelings; they just want your money, credit cards, personal info.  In other words they want to ruin your life.
2. Don't call them back - don't assume they'll put you on their "do not call" list. They won't even if they say they will.
3. Don't complain about the number of times they call if you don't use your own (your service's) Block Caller list.
4. Be proactive and responsible by using your own protection. Assume nothing.
5. Get on your phone service's Blocked Caller list - if they don't have one, get one that does. If there's a fee, it's still worth using it for your peace of mind.
6. Don't think the government's Do Not Call list is going to handle it - they won't.
7. Google the number.  
8. Add the number to your personal Block Caller list.
9. Get on with your life – you don't need to answer every phone call.

Same thing- called on my cell phone. Nobody said anything, so I hung up.

People, please go to https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx and file a complaint! It takes less then 2 minutes.

Posting your complaints here or any other message board does nothing to stop these slime telemarketers.

We get this call several times a week. So far, we've just been hanging up.  We're on the Do Not  Call List but that may only apply to companies in Canada.

Keeps calling and I'm on the Do Not Call list.

I received a call from this number, but no
message was left... so I don't know who it
was or why they called. Here's what I think
this game is, because I received many of
these type of calls every week. My opinion is
these type of calls come from cowardly and /
or lazy online marketers. Here's why I say
this... I'll get a message on my 24 / 7
public voice mail system from someone asking
me to please call them, because they want
more information about what I do online... So
I call the number they leave in the message
and it goes to voicemail, then they capture
the number I called from and put it in an
auto-dialing system (they may even sell your
number to other cowardly and / or lazy online
marketers like themselves). I'll leave them a
message when I call them, but they never call
me again for info... then I mysteriously
start getting these types of calls a day or
two later. They hide behind this system as
they are actually afraid to talk with people
about what they are marketing. These calls
come from very amateurish people...

If you want to pitch me on something, then
just pitch me coward... don't try to backend
me or if I like what your offering, I'll go get
it from one your competitors...
