These non-US Citizens are running a scam.  They claim to be the "Department of Crime Investigation."  They guy who has left me several nasty messages says his name is Robert Matthews and he needs me or my retained attorney to call him back immediately, or else I will face a serious legal situation.  This scam needs to stop.  Already reported them to the FBI.  DO NOT give these people the satisfaction of speaking with you.  Save the messages and do not respond.

They keep calling my aunts house looking for me and they need to stop calling. How are they even getting our numbers???

I just got the same call and I ask them for their physical address becuase if we are making any payments to a facilty we are entitled by law to at least know billing address information. The guy totally freaked out...a little afraid he had my social security number

KEEP GETTING CALLS TELLING ME I MAY BE ARRESTED

I have been getting calls all morning from this number threatening me and saying if I don't pay they will sue me and involve my employer.
Not sure what to do - if they involve my employer.  I'm a little nervous but I know it is a scam.
Any ideas on what to do would be helpful.

Tell them you know it is a scam and you will NOT be paying them 1 cent. They may call your emplyer and make thier threats, they cannot of any of the things they say they will - inform you remployer you have been the vicitm of identiy theft. The FBI put out a press release in Decmeber 2010 about these dirtbags. file a complaint at www.ic3.gov. Rememebr - they are liiars and scam artists - they could not do the things they threaten even if the debt was legitimate. Be prepared for more calls, all form different numbers using different names, but always the same BS story.

Today my wife got a call from Robert, stating I was under investigation for a Criminal Act and unless I contacted him by four o'clock federal officers would pick me up.  She ask him what dept he was with, and he refused to tell him.  She told him she thought he was a fraud, but he insisted I call him.  When I returned his call, he seemed kind of surprised when I told him I was a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer.  I told him if he needed to contact me to do it by mail, on a legal letter head.   He stuttered around but at the end of the call he said the FBI would be picking me up by five.  We will see.

This guy has also been calling me. They have all of my personal information, including my Social which is super scary. I was also advised that I would be picked up by 5pm. I was tols that I was going to jail for a payday loan that I never paid.... interesting because I do not have any outstanding loans, and have only ever had one payday loan company, that I have used 1 time.

I recieved a call for the same Robert Matthew and he was demanding i pay him 450 dollars in cash. He had my social and checking account number. I call the tampa police to check out the address and company since the area code was 813. No adrres in tampa I called and reported them to the FbI in D.C. I called back to let them know and the number was disconnected. This should not be allowed in the us. This started 3 week after i applied for a loan with Money Mutual and Pay day loan.
