I received this same scam e-mail today and sent him back a quote for $200,000 just to screw with him :)

These are shipping scams. They give you a stolen credit card number that works. You then use your credit card to pay for shipping cost from their "special shipper". Later, the money you deposited into your bank from a stolen credit card is recovered by the victim bank. BAM, your credit card is maxed,.... your screwed!!!

We had several emails and subsequent phone calls (number was always blocked) with following text:
Dear sir/madam,
I would like to place an order regarding round plastics, so kindly get back to me with the types that you have in stock as well as the price, and also want to know the form of payment that you accept and we would proceed from there... Thank you and looking forward to your responds.

This guy made a reference to use Pacific International Lines with bogus phone number 908-751-3002 and person's name Captain Ricardo Bravo with email address PacificInternationalLines@gmx.com and business hours 7:30 - 9 Mo-Fri, 8-12 Sat, closed Sunday (really??? for international shipping company?) The estimate for a shoe box size of shipment was $3000.00 and to be shipped to Friends of Earth, 1001 Calle San Roberto, Ste.500, Rio Piedras, PR 00926, USA. When we checked out PIL on line, we found out  they only deal with container sized shipments sent by trains, cargo or ocean ships. Interesting thing is that when the phone number was called, the voice on the message was the same as the voice calling our office to discuss the payment options with slight spanish or carribean accent. WARNING!!!!! These guys supply at least 12 to 20 credit cards, mostly Master Cards and VISAs.
This is one huge and very well mastered up scam so CAVEAT EMPTOR, they spread their field of operation to the Canadian sites as well..... anybody cares to comment?

Did you actually used a card they supplied and it happened to you? Just wanted to know....

An obvious scam since they could not answer questions related to the equipment they were trying to buy for $35K +.
called to screw with them but could not get a human on the phone.

This guy has also contacted us. I am thankful for the comments on this so I was aware of it.

aw warehousing aka scammer is located in Pietermaritzburg, NL, South Africa. he is using credit card information that is stolen from data base hackers and sold to lowlifes like him over the internet. same thing that has been going on in Nigeria for years. Just block there ip addresses and move on. what ever you do don't reply to there emails.

We just got this through our website contact page. Glad we checked this out - it looked fishy.

i, AS WELL AS THE REST OF YOU, entertained this person for a while until I got the request to get a quote from their shipper.  At that point I realized that this was a scammer and found the proof right here!

I did the same thing you did. I left the name of the company out on purpose and the shipper new the same name. LOL

I just got this same EXACT email.

He was trying to order 200 aprons from our company and when I received this message I told him we only ship via UPS, FED EX and USPS and I didn't hear back. I knew something didn't sound right so I googled him and this came up!!

What a scam. Everyone be careful!!!!

Glad i checked before quoting. Today he is Curtis Grimes from HW INC., 500 Grant St. #2900, Pittsburgh, Pa   He wants 90,000 copies of a flyer. No shipping required. Asking if we accept Visa/Mastercard?  Now why would he try to get this flyer printed in Houston, Tx and not Pennsylvania? He is using email as Curgrim@gmail.com

Wanted to purchase steel from my company as Barry warehousing. I entertained his idea until I noticed #1 the guy cant do math. I quoted him a Each (5 PCS each) and he wanted to purchase telling me the total for the order was OK. but his math reflected the cost of 4 items at on pc each.  not 5 pcs per line item. Very glad I found this site as I will be telling him off with one swift email and blocking the domain name.  He did not list a phone number but his contact info ship to address are all the same as mentioned. Barry warehousing in Pittsburgh PA. Shipping to Puerto Rico friends of the earth. Glad I found this thread as I can now tell him to %$%$ off

Just tried to buy some gluing equipment from me using the same tactics as everyone else has described.  Same phone and address but using the name Michael Benton of Benton, Inc.  Using the gmail account instead of a business website made me suspicious of him.  No info on Benton, Inc. either.  I appreciate all of you that supplied info about this #@&%

We had the same with Mr. Larry Combs.  Unfortunately, my team went as far as accepting and processing a credit card for banners and the shipping.  My team figured that as long as the invoice was paid in full and it cleared prior to processing the order then it would be okay.  When my salesperson got the shipping information and realized they wanted payment in full before arrangements were made to pick up the order, he realized it was a scam.  After a series of calls between my salesperson and Mr. Combs (AKA Mr. Scam Man) I got on the phone with him and told him that we could not process his order with third-party shipping because there are too many scams out there that do this kind of thing and it is against policy to include any third-party costs.  I told him we would happily refund his money.  He said he would think about how to proceed and then call me back. I'm sure we won't hear back from him.

We have contacted our merchant services processor and our bank and let them know about the situation.  I hope we successfully refund the charge to the rightful credit card owner.
