    His company has been calling me every day for the past couple days actually since last Friday since I got my new phone don't know these people they don't leave a message and they don't identify themselves as a company

    All phone numbers are recycled.  No one gets rid of a number without a good reason since it a pain in the butt to notify everyone.  So now you know why the former owners got rid of that number.
