no its a irs scam

I called back and the "representative" cursed me out when I didn't give my name.

Received a voicemail saying My identity is being used and that I need to call back to solve the issue, I called back and an Indian lady answered, I proceeded to give false information to find out if this phone call was legit, turns out it was.

you have criminal activity on your social security. I called back and they wanted more personal info . Will report to the police as an scan

I just got this call I'm afraid to call back. I feel like if it was actually the social security office then they wouldn't have sent me a weird automated message and hung up for something as serious as they were trying to claim.

Nope.  100% SCAM !!!

They called me today with the same social security scam

I just received a call from this number too, when I tried to call them back they asked me about personal informations. I went online to search for the US security administration number, it turns out to be different from this number

I never answer numbers I do not know, it was a recorded message left with part of the number and that I must call before they start legal proceedings... My Phone Gives SCAM Alerts also. PEOPLE NOT NOT CALL THEM BACK...SCAM....

I’ve received a miss call from ‭+1 (817) 385-6964‬ when I was driving. I stopped the car and called back. A lady answered me and told me she is from Social Security. She asked my name and some personal information. But, I didn’t answer her as I am familiar whit this type of SCAM.

I answered and thought it was legit and I gave my info. It never dawned on me that it might be a scam. What do I do??

I just received the call as well. I answered and it was an automated message telling me there was criminal activity linked to my ssn and to call back so they won't file criminal charges then the phone hung up. I called back and there was an Indian guy who answered the phone asking my personal info. I immediately hung up. I'm about to call the social security administration now to report this number.

Put a lock on your credit report. Second, contact the real social security office and ask them what to do. Or visit their web site. there;s probably information there.

got the call.  when i would not give information was told to hang up.  this was in Florida 5/6/2019

Didn’t recognize the number 817-385-6964 so didn’t answer. Automated partial message left to call the number back to prevent legal action. Didn’t call back......more scam.

The same experience as others. I would assume that social security administration would send something in the mail to report that someone is using my SSN and not use a phone to reach me. This just doesn't look right and I will not be returning a call to them.
