I too got a call from this random number. Said Agoura Hills, CA. Missed the call and they left no voicemail. Since I see it here on this site, I'm gonna assume it's spam.

These dirt bags called and told me thay are collecting money to help Firefighters obtain  much needed training.
I played with him for awhile. He started to get pushy and said how much do you want to donate?
I layed out a few choice words then told him that I have worked for the fire dept longer then he has been alive. No FD’s solicit money over the phone. Quit scamming people. I used more choice words.
He hung up on me.
Please don’t fall for this junk. They are using different phone numbers from the Angora Hills California area.

Called.  I don't answer numbers I don't recognize.  Left no message.  Others here suggest a scam call, and I agree.  Blocked.

Called, didn't leave a voicemail, assume the same, more spam

Called, didn't recognize the number, so I didn't pick up. It's probably the same idiots that the retired firefighter above encountered. Like he said, don't fall for it.

I got a call while out and about stating they were collecting for the "local" firefighters who risk their lives every day, and how much would I like to donate, etc. I found it weird that it's a 818 area code, and they didn't name what the local town was (I'm North-East, nowhere near California). I asked to call back and they hung up.

Caller identified himself as Fred and he is collecting donations for the Firefighters a National Organization. I said really?? Your number says Unknown and in Agoura Hills so how can it be a National Firefighters Fund?? He said ok and hung up.

Not gonna lie I actually fell for it however I kept saying I’m a student and I have no business donating any money and I’ve never even heard of his area. he got mad and hung up.

Sorry but police and firefighters are well taken care of by the public already ( not talking about volunteers).   I pay 9k a year in property tax to support police and fire.  There is no way in hell I am going to donate when there is a greater than 50 percent chance it’s a scam.

Just called me at 2:41 PST, I didn't answer and they didn't leave a voicemail.

Number unrecognized. Did not answer. No message left. Read info on net. I blocked.

Yeah... This jerk called me too saying the same thing bout collecting for fire fighters... I asked who he was calling for and there was silence... then he said ok and hung up...
