This number claims to be eBay! It’s  Scammers eBay doesn’t know this number

I was about to be ripped off by these people. Are they not legit?

Well, since you have failed to provide any information regarding the call or this attempt at ripping you off, it is hard to tell.  It may be that they are not legit or they may be legit.  I suppose that you can accept that answer or you can provide more detail and perhaps get a more accurate answer.  As to Chris, you could wait for him/her to come back and see your post and reply to you but I certainly would not count on that happening.

Claims to be a virus security service for computers. Telling me to renew a subscription for $499.00 that I never had, nor subscribed to.

Claimed my anti-virus protection expired and they will debit $499 unless I call the number.

They are scammers. 8183342909. Don;t fall for it.

I just received an email like yours.  Told me to call their phone number to cancel my subscription that I never had in the first place.  It is a scam!

I received a notice of renewal for $499, which I know nothing .  I called the -818-334-2909 number and that number wanted me to sign off my computer.  Scammer?

Got an e-mail notifying me of a debit soon to come for computer security I do not have & did not order.  Call the number 'if you need assistance.'  Scammers trying to get information.  Do not call.

Got an email telling me that they were renewing my "subscription in 24 hours" unless I call this number.  I never had such a subscription.  Also, while they say they are putting this charge onto my credit card, they never mention the last 4 numbers of a card.  Total scam! Don't fall for it.

Got an email saying I would be auto-renewed for a non refundable $499 service from 'win techies'. Have never heard of this company and nothing shows up on a google search. Googled the phone number and got this thread. Scamola

Got a text saying my bank acct will be debited for $299 today for continued virus protection. Call to discuss. From GeekSquad.  I've never purchased anything from Geek Squad especially with a debit. Not answering and will contact Best Buy to inform them of scam. (Usually these people ck to see if you will answer and if so they sell your number to other scammers.)

My text message came from 866 662-2335 but the message said:
"Dear Subscriber, your support plan will renew within 24 hours.  You will be charged $299.99.  To cancel call us at 18183342909 - Geek Squads"  Glad I checked!

I just got the same scam text claiming to be from geek squad and that I will be charged $299.99 unless I call to cancel the charge.  I did NOT call.

This number texted me claiming to be the geek quad, stating my antivirus was expiring and I will be charged $299 to renew. Total scam.

Got a txt from Geek Squads saying they would debit my account for $299.99 if I didnt contact them in 24 hours.  I looked up their 800 # and they told me they never send txt messages.  They are different companies like Best Buy and numerous others.  I've never bought anything from Best Buy.  So dont fall for 818-334-2909, it is a scam!!
