Got the call in response to my ad on Craigslist..didnt make sense and couldn't open picture file, so looked up number online

yep same thing here the number 818 334-4988 texted me about an item i wanted from craigslist....its spam and leading to photos you cant open......

2 Text messages from this number, wanted me to look at photos that I can't open. Downloaded some stupid software that I regret downloading. SCAM

Yep just got same text from this # and never responded back or never could see pics, must be a damn scammer!

I got a text message from 818-334-4988 saying something about an add I posted in craigslist (but I never did) with a file attatched with pictured I was unahble to open.  The website it sends you to is a virus website and my internet security denied me access to it.

I got a text message from 818-334-4988 saying, Hi, about the *wanted* add in craigslist does this work for you? <pic.attach>http://photo-host.net/?photo=686WTX. if so lets talk.
I cannot open a picture, so looked up this number and reading the above responses, I agree must be a scam.

I got a call from 480-840-2043 about an ad on creigslist, could not open pic this may be a scam

I did post an "item wanted" ad on craig's list. I won't put in my phone number next time. I got the same message as everyone else. I knew it was fishy from the start because my item wanted was concert tickets. Why would I need a picture of them, you either have them or you don't.

I went to the site, but did not try to open anything or download anything. I'm going to erase all history on my computer as well in case they left cookies or anything else.

Other people are saying if you download from their site you get a virus that gives them all your banking info....I think especially designed to snag people with iphones.

Yea I posted a wanted ad up for a truck I am trying to get my husband as a surprise since he is in the service and coming home and I got this message also....sad thing is....is that I was really excited someone could help me and had what I was wanting and looking for. I cant stand this spam crap......Message sent was like everyone elses, a link to a pic saying if I liked it, it was mine....UGH

Me too, me too. Do not respond in any way to this number my friends! IMINENT is site which quite possibly masks viruses.  Dummy me downloaded and now regret it.
Never respond to texts about ads if you have requested them to CALL.

I got a text form this number about a want ad I placed on craigslist...same thing for me that I couldn't view the pics and I'm smart enough to look into programs before I download them. Thankfully I did because what I found out was that if you do download their "pic viewer" software it puts a bug in your system that you can't get out. I hate being scammed. I reported this phone number to my local LEO's and they said they have had several complaints about it. Unfortunately, there's not much they can do except warn people not to open/download things that aren't from a trusted source.
