I've 2 calls from that number today too. I have no idea.

I believe its a collection agency from Credit One Bank . I have lost my full time job and my bills are now delinquent until my umemployment appeal is turned over.My only loan charge off is from Credit One. They don't leave messages and constantly calls.  

I have gotten various calls from phone numbers: 616-980-1153, 951-281-3718, 425-562-3215, and the famous 540-767-7800 (FRY attorney facing a lawsuit for harrassing collections on elderly and folks who are falsely accused so his relatives are running a collection scam under his name-he does not practice, so I read on the internet).

Remember, once our loans are ""Charged Off", its sold to collection agencies on a lesser $ amount. Then collection agencies turn around and try to get back their fees in additon to the $ value 'using their scare tactics so consumers fear for their lives and pay. Its a game. Read your consumer rights and know your legal rights... I have.

Thank you all yes this is Credit One Bank.... They try calling from multi numbers to try to catch you from answering the phone at different times during the day and never leave a voice message.  This is so rude.. The word to the wise don't answer any of these numbers if you are not familiar with them or if these are not numbers stored on your address book.  I also agree with Sydney great point on "charged off accounts" they try to sell your account to any collection agents who want to try and attempt to recover a debt so "they get paid" and yes this is a game all [***].

I agree will Sidney.  I was not late with my payment they charged me 75.00 for being late plus 25.00 for and over draft then on top of that they added 25.00 for the next month payment that had not even come out yet.  They have even called me at 11 P.M. at night of course its 8 pm on the west coast.  I just breath
heavy into the phone .  I think I should charge them for that

I am also a victim of Obama and his jobless, ignorant government takeover.  This is yet another bill collector from Credit Bank One.  I do not answer the calls, but they call 2-3 times a day, expecting me to answer!  I LOVE CALLER ID!!!

I'm also one that has been unemployed since last march. They call me about 20 times day and about 5 times a day they call back 4 times in a row. Since I didn't answer the first call maybe I will one of the other 3!! I just wrote them a letter stating to not contact me by phone due to harassment only send me letters. Make sure you send it certified with receipt of delivery. This way if they contact you after that you can sue them.

I am getting these calls as well.  What I do not think is right is that they have turned this over to a collection agency and i am still getting calls from them.   That is total harrassment.  I am considering hiring an attorney.

I refuse to pay a collection agency.....I got my hours cut in half last year and got behind on my credit cards. three of them closed my accounts, Credit one still shows as open. When I got my tax refund, I made a payment to Credit one, bring down to the limit plus about .71 cents. I made this payment on Thursday and I still got a couple calls from the 818 number.  They posted the payment to the account today, hopefully the calls stop. I don't mind paying what I owe, just not to shady collection agencies that call anywhere from 7am to 11pm, at least 15-20 times a day.

I also made a payment to one of my other cards that had closed my account, I'm still waiting for them to post it, but if they don't accept my money, then they won't get paid because I won't pay a collector.

Talk to them. Often times if a credit card debt is charged off they will offer you a settlement. You will never know how to resolve the issue if you don't hear your options. If they are not willing to work with you then don't talk to them again. However, you can't find out if you don't answer their call. NCO is probably the largest collection agency out there and they are being sued often. It is my understanding that they try not to use scare tactics or threatening language because they don't want more law suits. If they are threatening or harrassing ask to speak to their supervisor or manager. Usually you get a better response from them. Good luck!
