I received the same type of annoying calls so I contacted the corporate office in Carlsbad, CA.  They checked my phone number and it was listed on the account of someone I did not know.  They removed my number from that person's account and placed a note in their file not to call my phone number again.

I would suggest each person who is getting these calls to contact the corporate office and do the same.  1-800-432-6348

I received a call today with this number in the caller ID. I called back and got 24-Hour Fitness Membership Services Dept. I told them that I had received a call earlier in the day but the person who called hung up. I asked them if they were calling to renew my membership, and the person (a man) said yes. I said that my membership was current. He said that the only reason that they would call a member was if the credit card number given for membership renewal "didn't go through" and they were calling to get another number. This sounded really strange to me, since I did renew my membership recently, and the charge did appear on my credit card, and if it hadn't gone through, they probably would have called me within a day or two or the renewal, not 4 weeks later. Seems very fishy.
