This person is saying his name is michael brown and states he is an attorney representing bill collectors and i needed to send him a money order to avoid going to jail...i dont understand how he has all my info..

And also i noticed he had a thick accent like he was foreign he said to send the money to someone named sentilla and that i wouldnt have to worry about going to court everything would be resolved to just send them the money thru western union or moneygram

I too got this same phone call..thought it might be a scam but was very worried!

This man Michael Brown called saying he wanted to represent me, said I had taken a loan out. Brown also has my last 4 ss numbers how he got them Im not sure I gave no info.

He called me too threatening legal action and being served at home or my job. Id'ed as Michael Brown with Oak View Law Firm in Los Angeles area. I ask for his CA Bar # and he gave me A418769....which I then went to the CA Bar attorney search and there is no one with that bar number listed. When I called him back.....surprise....he does not answer.

He is a scam. There is an Oak View Law Firm but there is no Micheal Brown that works there according to their website.

i receive a call from this number stating that i took a loan from usa cash advance that he is a lawyer representing  this company usa cash advance,  that i need to pay them by western union or green dot prepaid card otherwise if i didn't i would go to jail. i was really worry. i never been in trouble with the law before.

Same story as above.  This guy is a crook - disregard him.  It's easy to get the last 4 of SS# - he's scamming you.

...you can find a lot of information about these scams on the internet - please do NOT fall for them - I saw a news report on how these types of callers can get information on you if you have ever had a pay day loan and they call just to bully you - they have many seniors they have claimed as victims as they were afraid of going to jail!  (even if they don't owe money, they confused them and said they do!)

 I just got a call from this number - they left an intimidating loud, angry sounding bullying message about "legal matter" (but no information telling me what exactly this is about - no actual company name, etc. to explain)  also, at the end it was something like "May God be with you, good luck" - some ridiculous dramatic thing no real valid U.S. Attorney would say (in a thick accent by the way....)

 Really this is a joke - Don't let this person scare you - I saw a special news report about these types of calls recently, they are a SCAM and there is absolutely nothing they can do to you - they are BULLIES LYING and trying to SCARE and INTIMIDATE you into giving them money!

 Not only should you disregard and ignore them but maybe if you feel like letting off some steam call them back or answer the call AND TELL THEM TO GO STRAIGHT TO H*LL - YOU KNOW THEY ARE FULL OF BALONEY!

I too received a call from Michael Brown, Atttorney claiming I owed money and they were going to take me to court, etc. I called him back and played along where do I send the money etc. of course he was unable to give any particulars about alleged loan. So I then asked him, So how many people do you have to call in a day before someone falls for this, and is this a big operation or just like you and your brother or uncle he then became very angry and said "you have no idea what we can do to you" "oh your just trying to f*ck with me wll the police will come and f*ck you and then he hung up the phone. It was quite fun.

I can't believe this, I got the call this morning around 9:00 I received the same call from this Michael Brown, threatening me that I took a loan out with USA Cash Advance and then gave me the last 4 of my SS# as well as the last 4 of my bank account number.  It threw me for a loop until I realized  that I didn't take out a loan with Cash Advance.  I decided to ask him some questions - Repeat the name of the law firm because I will be contacting them to verify if he is a lawyer with this law firm.  Repeat the name of the company that he claims has a law suit against me for $358.00 and then I said any time there is a law suit, why would you be contacting me over the phone and not through the mail.  Then he began to get loud and yelling and hung up.  So I called him back and he answered the phone by saying what.  Now scam or no scam I don't have time for stupidity and let's just say my number  is one he won't call again.

Same as above - except I work for a Staffing agency and we constantly have people calling for our associates.  When I explained that who he was looking for was not available at this number, things took a creepy turn.  He started telling me that he wanted my personal contact information because I "have a lovely voice" and he wanted to be my "personal friend" and that "he loved my sound" and moaned.  I am not easily flustered (we get some very interesting calls in this industry) but with the suggestive noises that he started making, it was REALLY creepy.  He has called back twice since.  This guy is a piece of work. BEWARE!

I received the same call from the same so called attorney with a thick accent who couldn't even pronounce the name right.  He was calling for my friend, Donna threatening her.  I knew it was a scam from the beginning of the message when he couldn't even pronounce the name, Donna.  My husband got a call just like this earlier this year.  I hate people who try and take advantage of someone who is just trying to get money to get by!!

Same thing...except now his name is Michael Smith.

I have the cure for people like this . If he would only show up at my house 24.6 miles out in the middle of NOWHERE.

im not sure who this guy is  but he keeps calling me with treats     he said his name is michael brown ???    and tell me i better have my attorny call him  why???    im not sure

He called me also on my cell and work threatening me.

this guy is now calling me at my job...i am thinking of spening at least my lunch hour harrassing him if he will answer the phone!

i was contacted by michael brown and was given an address to send the money order then after i sent it i was given another address this was all through cash advance
