They are telemarketers from a telephone bank in
India scamming people into buying an extended
warranty for their vehicle.  Do not deal with
them at all.  They seem very intent on getting
the VIN number of your vehicle model, color and
such.  DHS should look into them.

I just got a call from them three minutes ago (I didn't answer).  Glad I googled it first.

They just called me.  No message though.  If they want my car vin number and some crap about a warranty, they will be disappointed.... I'm half blind and not allowed to drive and have no car, lol.

This number called, I  asked the woman how they got my cell number and what the name of the business was.  I was immediately hung up on.

Received a call from this number, no message.  Probably a telemarketer.  Blacklist it.

This is an Identity Theft phishing scam - they tell you it is for an Extended Car Warranty, once they get your Credit Card number they charge thousands of dollar on it. It uses a sequential number Auto-dialing computer (Calls EVERY phone number by adding 1 to the previous phone number) and is run by criminals.... they could care less about the Do-Not-Call list.  The phone number seen on Caller ID is "spoofed", which means it is not the number from which the call was placed - they just pick some random number to use when the computer dials the calls.   In all probability, the calls are coming from Russia,  Nigeria or another one of the countries that are known for email scams - IT IS THE SAME PEOPLE that send out Email phishing scams!

same thing happened to me. they call me every day from a different number, i start to talk and they hang up. If they keep calling you have the right to call the police because it's harrassment, but i really dont think there is much they can do about it.

I just filed a complaint with the FCC. I get calls from this number and from a few others with the same recording to solicit a purchase for a car warranty. Other than the annoyance of these calls, Anyone stupid enough to buy from someone over the phone these days should have their head examined! You would be much better donating the money to charity, at least you know it is doing something good.
