- David| 5 repliesBetween this number and about 15 others, I have received approximately 70 voicemail messages requesting a call back since 5/1/2025. The number may be associated with Capital Recovery Services, 15770 Dallas Pkwy, Ste 200, Dallas, TX 75248. They are a debt collection company and have not sent me anything in writing. I have excellent credit and no outstanding bills. Based on my research, they are known to be an aggressive debt collection agency. I have reported them to the CFPB.

But, apparently not as aggressive as you are copying and pasting the same post over and over and over and ...David wrote:... they are known to be an aggressive debt collection agency.
That is because they are not required to do so until they make contact with you. Talking to voicemail or an answering machine does not count as "contact". They have to talk to the person they are trying to collect the debt from, then they have 5 days to mail the letter.David wrote:... have not sent me anything in writing.
(Information oft posted by regular poster BigA)
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contain a “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that dispute/debt validation request letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
Also file complaints with the FTC: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Nimrod replies to Just me| 2 repliesThat would only apply to the debt collector that makes the report to the credit bureaus (usually the first collector), after that the debt can change hands again and again and the subsequent collectors that own the debt do not need to worry about that requirement since they do not report anything to the credit bureaus. Once reported, that notice of a delinquent debt stays on the debtor's report for seven years, and it is not updated by subsequent collectors.
While it is a nice bit of trivia, your reply is not germane to what I posted. - Just me replies to Nimrod| 1 replyYou are wrong. If a collection agency is no longer collecting the debt, they are no longer allowed to report that to debt the new collection agency must send you something in writing or they cannot report it. And you should go back to school and learn proper grammar and punctuation so you can make fully understandable posts.Just me wrote:You might want to go back and take the.Regulation f course again
Since neither the David's post or my reply to him made any mention of reports to the credit bureaus, your original reply was basically a non sequitur.
It is apparent that you did not actually read (or properly comprehend) my reply to you, as your second post is just another non sequitur of fallacious nonsense.
I have no doubt that you are a Troll, and (based on your "mastery" of grammar and punctuation) not a very intelligent one at that!
And it looks like my satchel of Troll Chow™ is now empty...
