This lady, said it was Lena Salamone, tried to buy furniture I advertised by sending me a fake cashier’s check. She wanted me to pay the moving company that was supposed to pick up the furniture so sent me extra money. Very pushy about depositing the check, but I didn’t. Sent it back. She texted but did not call me.

That is exactly the wrong thing to do.  You should have taken the whole thing to the Post Office and had them forward it to the Postal Inspectors.

This person identified themselves as a woman named Ellen Perry Fritz. She was interested in buying some potty training stuff from me and instead of communicating through the website she wanted me to message her through this number as she was at work. Seemed fishy so I checked “her” profile on facebook and it was created only 10 hrs ago. No friends or other information so I ignored her.

I have received three contact messages from three DIFFERENT VarageSale accounts saying they are interested to buy my used vehicle, but all have the same phone number and similar message. Here's the latest:

Hello am highly interested to buy it?! want to pick it up as soon as possible. text (830-448-0660) am at work I will give you a call when I get off

What a coincidence. This same number left me a message on Varagesale that she wanted to purchase one of my products. " Ellen" Wanted to me to text her so she could call me back after she got off work. LOL NOT!

Same person contacted me as well. LOL

Probably should block her on Facebook too or report it as a fake profile.

I experienced the same thing today (10-21-24 on a Varage Sale site in New Braunfels and have reported them.

I also got the same message trying to buy something on the New Braunfels VarageSale site but this time from a Tanya Burnell.

YES!  Just got the same message from Varage Sale as well.  Glad I looked this number up.

Same here.  Wanted to buy items off a selling site.  Very pushy.  Offered to pay double.  LOL

Glad I looked up this number. I posted furniture in the Rich/Rosenberg area and I got the same message on VarageSale about the person at work for me to contact that number.

Ditto. Varagesale. "Helen Stewart" this time. Same "I'm at work, want to buy when I get off". Sent her a link to this page. Told her/him "caught you".

Same thing happened to me!! Messaged on VarageSale, said she was at work and to text her so she could call me later. "She" wanted to pick up my exercise bike as soon as possible. Ugh, I hate scammers. Thankful for this post though!!

This happened to me too. Same phone number. "Yolanda Sanchez" messaged me on Dallas, TX VarageSale saying "Hello I believe it’s in a good condition I want to pick it up as soon as possible text (830-448-0660) am at work I will give you a call when I get off" which is the same language used in other people's messages. So glad I looked up this number. Total scam.
