    These people call claiming to represent BW Financial in California, trying to collect on a "past-due Payday Check Loan Service". Problem? First, the phone number is from a LANDLINE near Galveston, Texas. Second, the number they give for the corporate office in California is...wait for it...located from a landline near GALVESTON, TEXAS! The supposed phone number for corporate is the same number they call from. Third, the caller will use a name like Elizabeth Truman. She must be a mystical, age-defying, magical human being, because Elizabeth Truman was First Lady of the United States from 1945 to 1953. That's right, the wife of Harry S. Truman. And finally, they will claim that federal charges are being brought up. Defaulting on a payday loan is not a federal offense, but a civil suit that results in collective action being taken through the court system (which means a person will pay administrative fees as well as the cost of the payday loan, that's all). They will ask for payment now to resolve the debt. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like duck s*#@, then it must be a duck! SCAM!!!!

    received a phone call from "investigator Elizabeth Truman" she was trying to convince me she needed to get a "statement" from me for my benefit of my information being compromised.  Pressed for my last digits of SSN. Said I could not confirm or deny but you are welcome to contact my Atty, with your foolishness.  Gets angry says good luck, hangs up.  These people need something else to do....

    The phony debt collectors are trying to get some last minute work done today.  "...to get a "statement" from me for my benefit of my information being compromised."  What does that even mean?  LOL.  You only got a "Good Luck".   Usually it is "govern yourself accordingly"  LOL...
