Second call in the last 90 days. I don’t know what these Brokeback Mountain Boys watch down in Texas, but their collection fraud scams are all over the news here. (Western Washington)  Don’t be scared of them, they are nothing but liars who can’t make good on a single threat  Report these scum to the F.T.C.  Also, many states, including possibly your own have a special division of the licensing dept. for dealing with debt collection fraud.  Ours does and they live for running these bill-boys through the ringer.  As for how they got your number, many of them use random-number-generation software, so even unlisted numbers are not safe.  Above all, do not pay them a dime and give absolutely no personal info.  They want it for identity theft.

    Back Off Caller!
I received a voice message from this number. I called back and a woman answered. I stated I was returning a call from a voice message I received. She asked if the voice message was left on (***) ***-**** (which is my phone number). I said yes and she asked if I knew ****** ************ (my husband). I said I did. They asked if I had close enough contact with him to relay a message. I said yes. She (Morgan Stone) said, please have Mr. ***** ***** call us back at (832) 915-2382. I stated that he is my husband and asked what it is regarding. She said that they could only speak with me if I verify my husbands social. I told her I wasn't giving my husbands social to anyone. I asked if it was for collections and she said that it was for legal claims. I got my husband on the landline and he approved me to give this lady the last 4 digits since she had already read off his cell phone number. Then a horribly pretentious man named MICHAEL SWAN came on the phone and just started rambling off his standard verbiage he has printed out that he reads to every body. Be ware that these people do their research. He stated that my husband had gotten a loan from an on-line pay day advance place (Loan Point I think) and that the check he wrote from Union Bank didn't go through when they tried to collect and now that statute of limitations is running out. I asked how long ago the loan was and he said 2008. I asked the original amount and he said $717.50 (who borrows an odd number like that anyways) but they are seeking total restitution of $1,200.??. I said, "Ok. Please mail my husband a formal communication requesting contact along with print out of all past communications/attempted communications made as well as a copy of the check provided and the signed agreement from this loan company." He blurted out, "You're not getting anything! You have two options, it can go to litigation for 3 charges against your husband or you can pay the restitution." My husband was on the land line listening to the whole thing. Mr. Swan then continued to make matters worse by telling me that I should be asking my husband what the loan money was for instead of asking Mr. Swan for proof. The [***] insinuated that my husband is dishonest with me about finances. That's when I said goodbye and hung up. I will be digging into this deeply.

The missing part of the message has nothing to do with your voice mail, that was done deliberately to make people think they missed something important and call back.  I know it was the same on mine  Similar to a scam collection company known as A.R.S. who routinely distort their voice mail messages to sound like “I.R.S.”
