This is the American Red Cross, it is an automated call, but when you call back you get a real person, this is a legitimate number.

It clearly isn't the Red Cross.  You see, if it was then there would have been absolutely no valid reason for you to look the number up.  So, have you spent your whole life so far being a lying, scumbag scammer?

I created an account on this just so I could reply.   This is a real phone number (as of today - July 9, 2020) for the American Red Cross, to schedule convalescent plasma donations.  They didn't leave a message, but thanks to Patti M's response above I called them back and got my donation scheduled.

I'm so glad I checked this as they did not leave a message and wanted to donate plasma :)

As of Cinco de Mayo 2024, it is still the American Red Cross # used to confirm donation appointments.

Seems you are correct.  Call back gets "Thank you for calling your American Red Cross.  Your call and blood donation are important to us.  This call may be monitored..."  I spoke with "janalee" (I think that's what she said) and her advice was, "if in doubt call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).  She said they do call to confirm previously made appointments.  Of course it's always prudent to be safe and cautious with personal information as scammers can spoof any number.
