Received text saying: 12/3/2020 Notice of Cancellation STOP2STOP

Turns out to be city gov (Sterling Heights, MI) sending SNOW EMERGENCY alerts to subscribers. Probably using some third-party notification service for municipal governments, hence the suspicious number.

Got a similar text from this number referencing Statesville alerts. My investigation revealed this: the organizations/companies Notify Me &  Civic Send located in Perkins Oklahoma will now be using 1-833-245-4610 for their notification systems. Maybe their having small transition bugs along the way. Probably not malicious.

I received a text from this number this morning.  It was from my city government letting me know that our city council meeting was cancelled.  I live in Georgia.  This must be a nationwide government notification system.

received suspicious text on 4/23/21 saying my amazon account was disabled, which is was not, and a link to follow. Apparent phishing for personal data.

Got two texts today (2 June 2021) from.this number. Only says Solid waste and recycling services with a cryptic looking link. Needless to say not clicking.

Received a text from this number today. Message said something about Star City Employee Awards with a link to click and Stop2Stop....did not click the link after reading other comments here and on another site. Blocked number and deleted message.

Received a text that read: Patrol Officer with an http:// behind it then to stop messages reply stop. I did not reply however I opened message to find a link?? I did not reply but am curious if it’s a scam?

Received text:  Free COVID vaccines available this Tuesday and Wednesday (with a link).
This came from my city's Police Dept.  I signed up over a year ago to receive alert texts from the PD  of road closures, accidents, etc.  I believe they stopped using Nixle and are now using Civics Plus as their notifier.

Got a text from this number that said, "Morning Court Cancelled for February 2, 2022 *website link* STOP2STOP

Received this text this morning “The Challenge and Step are canceled today! Sorry for the late notice STOP2STOP”

Got a text from this number with AGENDA some link, and STOP2STOP. Blocked & deleted.
