Received 9 calls from this number in 4 hours; no message was left. That pattern tells me it's a scammer, I've blocked it.

Caller iD: SPAM? 800 Service

Called 2 hrs ago. Flurry of "800 Service" calls over the last 2 weeks. Wish I could block the Caller ID "800 Service" instead of just the number. Of 18 or so calls in the last 2 weeks, there were only 2 calls with the same number.

Marked as "SPAM?" by Verizon (but not blocked!).

Disconnected after one ring by the service whose name shall not be used here.

Caller hung up when answering machine picked up. I receive so many unsolicited calls on my landline, I no longer answer it. :   (

Another call saying they want to raise money for firefighters. Totally fake-sounding, similar in pitch to callers saying they raise money for police, breast cancer, heart problems and others trying to pluck your heart-strings into poverty, with no guarantee any charity gets any money from the calls..
