Got a text from someone claiming to be a Medicare specialist who is assigned to help me pre-apply when I turn 65 in October.  Since I'm not even close to being 65 and my birthday is not in October, the text seems bogus to me  Perhaps a scam.  So, I blocked the number.

I also got a text from "Alex from the Medicare Enrollment Department" offering to help me since I supposedly turn 65 in October. Not close to that age, not born in October. Obviously a scam.

“Hello! This is Alex from the Medicare Enrollment Department. I'm the licensed Medicare specialist in Ohio that was assigned to assist you in your initial enrollment into Medicare when you turn 65 in November. Please reply with "Yes" to discuss your options. You've agreed to receive messages from Licensed Medigap Advisors. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Msg&Data rates may apply.”
Did not reply to text, otherwise they can resell “active” numbers to higher paying spammers

I verified through medicare.gov live chat it is NOT Medicare related. The agent's response from medicare.gov live chat was

"I can tell you that the only way you can text with Medicare is like we are now.  So if it appeared on your phone like any ordinary text, it would not be legit."

Received a text from this number alleging the sender had been assigned to help me enroll for medicare when I "turn 65 in November."   My husband (who is the owner of record for my phone number) turns 65 in November, but he is already enrolled in medicare due to his disability.  Medicare does not send text messages; they send letters.  Obviously a scammer.

I am receiving both unwanted phone calls and unwanted text messages to sign me up for Medicare. I am not Medicare eligible and they are reporting wrong birth month. I have not answered and have not given any person information.
    • Caller: Unknown. Person identifies first name only. Text today was Alex.
