833-340-4045

It started as a text from a different number and I was told to call this # if I hadn’t requested access to my Apple ID.  They claim to be Apple Inc.  claimed people in two states and the Philippines had access to my acct and started to say I had to give them money in order to protect my acct and end the access that they had.  They had me verify my phone and email before I hung up on them.

When I called Apple to verify if this was a scam they said even just my phone and email is enough to try to restart my Apple login.

Received the same text message as the above poster regarding calling the Apple - ID support team.

I just received the same message on my phone for the same.

i received a text from an (858) number with a new Apple ID verification code, asking me to call the (833) number immediately if I didn’t request it.

Received text message from a "248" Michigan number with my Apple-ID Verification code is:  #_ _ _ _ _ _(6 digits), then the message continues...
"If you haven't requested this code then call the Support team Immediately on 1-833-340-4045"
So, I decided to call the 833 number from a landline and was told they were Apple Support and they would need a couple of minutes to verify that my device was safe.  The guy came back to say everything was now OK on my device.  I said, "How did you do this when I'm calling from a landline, and he promptly hung up!"  This is a SCAM!
