- james| 2 replies3rd party collection agency... not accredited by the BBB... threatens wage garnishment ... uses different phone numbers with your local area code as a disguise... BLOCK!
- Caller: Revenue Reporting svcs
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to james| 1 replyI'm not sure how you would know that they are not accredited since their BBB page is being updated. All accreditation means is that they paid the BBB a lot of money for a good rating. It means nothing at all.
- Elizabeth Morgan| 5 repliesThis is a third party collection agency, they are licensed to collect. I called them to work out a payment plan to avoid any issues in the future, these collection agency's can take you to civil court if you choose to ignore their calls. I called and worked out a payment I could afford.
- Caller: RRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Ima B.These scammers use scare tactics to try and get uneducated people to pay. Spoke to “Mary” on the phone and she threatened wage garnishment and liens and even called me a thief for not paying this alleged debt. My legal counsel is all over this!
- Caller: Revenue Reporting Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Kat* replies to Elizabeth MorganWhoops! Looks like we missed a shill last week. If you "called them to work out a payment plan" that means you already knew to whom this number belongs so there is no logical reason for you to look up the phone number. Hopefully anyone else seeing your post will know that phone calls are not a legal method of debt validation & to demand MAILED proof of the debt
- Tanisha Banks| 1 replyI am in bankruptcy and this company keeps calling. I have sent over communication for them to not contact me nor any of my family members like they are doing. They should be aware that I am under the automatic stay right now

- Jo replies to Elizabeth Morgan| 2 repliesNo they can not take you to civil court. They bought the debt on pennies on the dollar and are trying to profit by bully and harassing people with treats of wage garnishment. They can't do anything and if the debt they are trying to collect is over the states maximum time like 7 or 10 years then they can't do anything at all.
- Nimrod replies to Jo
Not necessarily true. It depends on how long it has been since the debt became collectable and your State's Statute of Limitations (SoL) (what you appear to have meant by "states maximum time").Jo wrote:No they can not take you to civil court.
If the SoL has not expired, then you can be taken to court to collect the debt, regardless of how many times it was sold and for how much. After the SOL expires, then they cannot sue you, unless you do something that resets the SoL clock. The Sol varies from State to State and by the type of debt. (No State has a 7 year Sol for debt). For a list of debt SoLs by State follow this link:
What's the Statute of Limitations on Debt?
With the exception of two States, that is not true; debts remain collectable after the SoL expires, the collector just cannot take you to court for them. Unless you pay them off or have them discharged in bankruptcy, debts will live on until you shuffle off this mortal coil and your final estate has been settled.Jo wrote:... if the debt they are trying to collect is over the states maximum time like 7 or 10 years then they can't do anything at all.
Here is what the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has to say about collectability of old debts:
Can debt collectors collect a debt that’s several years old? - BigA replies to JoHow do you know that person doesn't live in Kentucky where the SOL is 15 years for debts before 2014? I would suggest that you try to get an education before giving out extremely poor advice because you don't have a clue what you are talking/posting about. If the debt is within the SOL it doesn't matter what they paid for it as they now own it. It is called "assignment" and every contract can be sold unless it specifically states that it can't within that contract. I have never seen one that said that. Oh, and by the way that person clearly posted here over a year ago so I can't figure out why you are trying to give them your 100% incorrect advise to begin with.
- Plz replies to Elizabeth MorganSo you either got duped or hopefully your able to pay the real bill. Cause why not call the originator of the debt and settle it with them. Let them direct you to collections. Js it's very tacky business trying to get info from a fam member. If you got that you got the info you want. Just crazy
