Text said my truck was ready with a link to submit payment

Capstone is a distribution center and the truckers who deliver at their warehouses get texts when their truck has been unloaded. The texts are for them to submit their info to get paid, so it would seem your number was texted by mistake.

Received text saying, "Your truck is ready for checkout. Do not pull out of the door. Thanks for choosing Capstone! Pay here: https://v2.capstonepay.net?load_id=31951835".

I received a call asking if I received the text and asking me to click on the link to go through the payment process for unloading the truck.  When I told them I had no idea what they were talking about, they dug into their files and asked me if I was such and such with US Foods.  Turns out, the dispatcher wrote down the wrong number.  They apologized profusely and said to ignore the text and link and they would get it to the proper person.  I can't tell you how many times they said, "I am so sorry".

It looks like spam to me, there would be no reason for us to receive a text like this since it does not apply. Looking at the past messages here, it appears this has been going on for a number of years.

Yeah, people have been texting/calling wrong numbers for many years. Nothing new about it and to think it was spam is just silly of you.

Website registered in 2021 and expires in 2026.  Looks like it is some sort of payment.  Going to that site it says that $214 has been processed and their is a phone number filled in.  No other explanations on the page and it tells you to wait in your truck for the bills?

I am getting text messages for days from this phone number.
