833-525-4244

Sophisticated scam artists, they spoof the Caller ID of an actual Apple store then leave a message claiming that you need to call Apple Support at the 833 number before using any Apple Cloud services.  Called twice in an hour using different actual Apple Caller IDs.

Received 2 calls from Apple Inc (845-215-6980) this morning within an hour (local call to my home tel #) - “rep” asked a series of general questions relating to using my WiFi to connect with online shopping or banking; then advised that last night someone in Nigeria was trying to access my banking info & we should connect now to a laptop or desktop computer to correct this situation.  At that point, told “rep” I have their number & will call them back.  Prior to disconnecting, “rep” reiterated not to do any online shopping or banking on any device.  Ok, got it.

Oh, meant to add within the voice mail message left caller is asked to call back to the 833-525-4244 # & when you’re connected the background noise sounds like the “rep” is in a call center in a location of who knows where.  “Rep” had an Indian accent but that can also be disguised with today’s technology.

this was left on my VM to call back, my apple device was hacked. I do not own one so this is a scam

Came home exhausted from work. They called. very sophisticated scam and I almost fell for it. They try to con you into giving remote access to your computer after feigning a call from Apple. Was an Indian "rep" on the phone.
in the nick of time I got fully awake and told then I'd call apple myself. if you ever get a call from these creeps
always say you will call Apple yourself to verify. I'm still shaking from my almost catastrophe.

just got a recorded message re the cloud and needs to call "Apple Support" at this number before using any of our apple devices.  Ha, we don't have any apple devices.  I passed on this info to the legitimate "Apple Support" twitter account.

Same scenario, thought I would give them access to my computer. Indian dude who at first had me thinking could this be legit, not! Called Apple myself and told them the scenario.

Someone left msg to call Apple at 833-525-4244 before using my Apple devices. The calling number was different local number 818-254-1070. I Googled the "Apple" number and got this site. Thank you everyone for sharing and preventing people from falling for scams.
