- Len| 10 repliesInvestigator Gannon. Didn't say who he was an investigator for. Asked who was handling my recently deceased father's "affairs."
- Caller: 833-753-4244
- BigA replies to Len| 9 repliesWasn't Gannon Jack Webb's partner in "Dragnet"?
- MJG replies to BigA| 8 repliesBill Gannon - played by Harry Morgan - just the facts, BigA.
- BigA replies to MJG| 7 repliesWasn't he also Colonel Potter in Mash?
- MJG replies to BigA| 6 repliesYep - he also played a nut job colonel (another name - not Potter - ) earlier in the series.
- 4Q2 replies to MJG| 4 repliesHis earlier MASH role was General Steele.
Harry Morgan played a jewel thief on an early episode of the radio version of "Dragnet." - BigA replies to 4Q2| 3 repliesGeez, the radio version? That is a bit before my time, although I would really like to hear some of them. I did catch of few of "The Shadow" ones. I can't remember where though. Those really make you use your brain to imagine what is going on.
- MJG replies to BigA| 2 repliesI believe a guy named Orson Welles did that on Halloween many years ago!!
- BigA replies to MJG| 1 replyYes, and I think we have hijacked this thread a bit too much walking down Nostalgia Lane! :)
- 4Q2 replies to BigAAgreed, but I will add that Dragnet began on radio in 1949; the TV version started a couple of years later.
One place to hear old radio shows: rokradio.com - Liz| 3 repliesInvestigator Gannon left a message regarding my ex-husband who I haven’t talked to in over 18 years. I called the number back and it went straight to Investigator Gannon’s voicemail, but no company name was identified. Does anyone know if this is just a collection agency, and are they trying to find the person they reference, or is it just a scam to get you on the phone?
- Call type: Unwanted
- BigA replies to Liz| 1 replyThis is an extortion scam. They already have your ex husband's info.
One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money. They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off of the internet. - B-Edwards replies to LizJuly 2, it was hot in Toll Free Number City, I was working the day watch in bunco with my partners 4Q2, MJG and BigA. The Boss was Commissioner Gordon. Seems someone was impersonating my old partner, Gannon, in debt collection scam. The commish told us to check in with Miss Liz, and give her just the facts...
-- So far no one has come up with a name of this outfit, it likely they don't want to give out any info at all, other than threats and intimidation. This NOT a collection agency. These are crooks pretending to be debt collectors. Since called back, they will probably keep calling with more threats and lies. They want to convince you that there is an unpaid debt that has been forgotten. They could be looking for the ex, but I am sure they will be happy to shake you down as well.
Do not talk to these goons. Some of these crooks organize actual companies to lie, cheat and steal, but I have a feeling this is either a loosely organized group or - more likely - is being run outside the US. Best thing to do at this point is ignore the calls and block the number. See BigA's post back to you. - Andy| 1 replySame story I guess.. investigator Gannon wanting me to call him... no info about who he works for or what he wants
- Caller: ? No name.. just Inv. Gannon
- B-Edwards replies to AndyJust the facts, sir. See the posts above. You have fallen into a time warp and are now in a Dragnet Episode.
- Marke Turner replies to MJGHe played a nut job general. Lol. Not nit picking but it is my all-time favorite series. Sadly I own all 11 seasons on DVD and watched them enough to damn near have all lines memorized.
He passed away Dec 7, 2011. Same day as my mom. - JonasSame thing investigator numb nutts
