- Zane McGarity-Springer replies to LScammers. I back called them and they are all in India and asked me for the first six and last four of my card number! LOL
- Credit Union CustomerCaller is spoofing my credit union's customer service number. They call to report fraud and then use a text msg with a verification code to confirm my identity. They are actually in contact with the cu and reporting their own transactions as Not Fraudulent.

- MichaelGot a very convincing call from this number indicating fraudulent charges on my account. Called them back and the first fishy thing was that they asked for the first six digits of my card number. This is unusual as these simply indicate the branch and brand of card. Then they went on to send me a text with a verification code. This is where I got sketched out, as my credit union doesn't do this.
I'm absolutely convinced this is a scam as my account has no fraudulent charges on it, and the account is not restricted like they claimed.- Caller: credit union

- Michelle JI had a text message from my bank saying there was fraudulent account activity, so I called this number- it felt shady so I hung up and called the number on the back of my card and ended up at the same call center. I honestly have no idea if this was really my bank or a scammer. They did send me a verification code, they asked for my phone number, and name and my account number, but I did not give them the account number. I went on my banking app, and my debit card was stopped because of fraudulent activity. So it seems that this is legit, but I’m reading other comments saying people got scammed. I’m not sure because I legitimately called through my own banks, customer service line. I’ll be going into my bank tomorrow to check in person.

- a west| 1 replyI called the key bank number on my gift card to get my gift card balance. He asked me to verify the phone number then sent a code from this number, he asked for the code n I gave it. After I gave him the code he said his computer was messing up and he put me on hold. After he came back from hold he said he’d have to transfer me to another person so they could help me. How all of a sudden your computer is acting weird after I gave you the code. Called again, got another person and he didn’t ask for my # for confirmation. Good thing it was only a gift card and not my real bank card. Stay alert.

- BigA replies to a westMost likely you dialed the wrong number and got scammers. Your card has probably been drained. No bank or other legitimate entity would send you a verification code and then ask for it.
- AdamThis is a typical Phishing scam. First a text about your Identification code, that you've never signed into. Then later on a call stating that fraud has been detected, they will want you to verify all sorts of info, usually guessing your bank name. Wells Fargo, BOA, etc. are all fairly common.

- Judy DeLaVergne12-14-2024 Received text message regarding possible fraudulent transaction on my Credit Union Debit Card from 464 249-1356. I called my Credit Union using the phone number on my Debit card, but since this was a Saturday evening their CS department was closed. I used automated option to speak with a representative supposedly with their Fraud department. Twice I was required to provide two separate people with two different verification codes coming from 833 906 0641 in order to cancel my Debit card after it was supposedly compromised by a fraudulent transaction. Tav was the male representative I spoke to with a heavy Indian accent. He told me I would need to contact Customer Service on Monday. I insisted he cancel the Debit card today. He made me repeat my mailing address and last 4 digits of my Debit card after I questioned why he needed it if he had my file on the computer. Not sure if this was a scammer I talked to.
