Lady named Ashley called and gave above number to call back on referencing a debt that was about to go to court. Did not name company but did say I needed to talk to a Lacy Peters. All searches about this number come up empty

Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, or “Law Office” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws.  They do have to follow those laws, but they won’t.  They mention that they have received a Fax document, to create the sense of urgency.  They also tell you that if you fail to call them back you are "waiving your right to council", which is pretty much nothing but hogwash.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.

Same here. A guy called from a private number but left this number and had to contact lacey peters because I have been summons to appear in court. If i dont call back, i will be served. He had the wrong first name which told me something was up! 8442163342

Ashley Briggs called as a personal locator looking for my father. She said she'd received legal documents filed against him with his name and SSN. She claimed that he needed to call Lacy Peters at her mediation office at the above number in order to keep from being served papers from the district court.  She gave a case number as well: M539300.

This definitely scared me. Glad I Googled. Such a shame...

I received a message from this company [unknown caller] asking me to contact Lacy Peters within the next 24 to 48 hours or I was going to be served with papers and my case was going to District Court. They had the last 4 digits of my social security number and gave me a case number C-223142. The message kind of freaked me out but I know I haven't done anything wrong. I do believe its an old debt company trying to get some money. Im so glad I googled this number, now I know there is nothing to worry about.

Some lady named Marie Scott(bogus name) called claiming complain filed in district court. Stating that she was a personal locator Case#208160(fake case number). Also threaten to send a personal courier to serve papers. Told me to call Laci Peters to "meditate" complain. PLEASE BE AWARE FRAUD. Do not give out any information to them and they are trying to get info from you.

Same thing happen to me they called me on Nov 23 say the same thing case number in all.    it had me scared.

Basically same message. Name ssn and case number. Knew somethin was up immediately when she was asking for a person whom we buried a year ago. This call is total bullsh¡t. Nothing but fraud. File it under spam and b done with it.

Ashley Briggs called and gave me a case number said it was regarding my brother needed to contact Lacy Peters who was a mediator. He calls the number and they are demanding money within 48 hours. She even asked for credit card, debit card or preloaded card that he was gonna pay with if not papers would be served after the 48 hours.

She is a LIAR.  IF papers were coming, you (or brother would not be warned.  Making a threat like that is a violation of the FDCPA.  Check BigA's post (above) for more information.

same as all the other callers they are rude and keep interrupting me and try to use scare tactics against me. They had my personal Info that was about 5-6 years old and made allegations against me for accounts i never had and loans i never took out. The court has to have a motion of mediation that is approved by a judge and she was not able to provide me with the court it was filed in or a case number from the court itself. On another note, the same caller who left me a voice mail (Michelle Tayler) was the same voice but she called herself a different name..... i feel bad towards the people that fall victim to these kinds of people.

Called my phone today for the third time. First time, I did get scared but didn't provide my father's info (because that's who they were looking for). Second time, I was annoyed they would call me again with empty threats to my father about how he's going to go to jail if no one responds, so I called the State and they said it is fraud....so TODAY they called me for the third time which is after I've already talked to the state and told her stop calling my phone and stop trying to scam me. "Lacy Peters" the main contact was who I was talking to and she told me to "shut up. I'm not calling YOU" I said "You are calling me because this is MY phone" and she said "Okay, with that attitude, I will call you every single day as I feel like it." So I told her I talked to the state and that I'm going to file a complaint of fraud- and then she said "File whatever harrasment charges you please and be a little wussy" LOL guess it's safe to say they are SCAMMMMM all the way! Literally got my blood boiling and I called them back about 5 times after leaving a voicemail each time yelling =) Let's see if they call again

I've gotten the same calls like everyone else. At first it had me scared to death.  But then my husband started searching about it and quickly learned that it's a big scam!!  Lacy Peters is a big ole scam!!!

Same here. Got a call (still getting)from marie scott personal locator said to call lacy peters.upon calling a girl hung up and then when called back said lacy was busy.did not give info whats it about then has called back as marie scott again and left msg.

It was the same above 844-216-3342 as call back number.They don't give out their co name or address or anything.
