I got the message on my voice mail, saying in a hard to understand scratches in the sound way something about a court order and legal action. Could not make out company name.

R&R called my work and told an employee they are filing a lawsuit against me for a past debt. When I returned the call, they threatened to sue me for an old debt I am currently paying to a different debt collector. I think it’s a scam. They called my work again this week.

R&R group. These people called me and stated they are filing a lawsuit against me for a debt I owed from 2007 to a bank. Threatening to sue me and that they will ruin my credit if the lawsuit goes through. I don’t know what to do, I can’t find any information on this company and I literally just paid almost 10 grand to be collection free and start building my credit, I’m on the fence whether I should just pay them to get it over with or keep digging risking everything I just gained by paying all of my collections off. I called the bank and they closed the account in 2007 but have no records of the account, the statute of limitations for Los Angeles (where the address of the company says they are from int the email headline) is 4 years. It’s been 11 years now. Someone help. Please. This is driving me crazy. Oh yeah, they call from an unknown caller I.D. It seems fishy but has me nervous about my credit at the same time.
