Computer screen was blocked. Said to call above number for Microsoft support. Person with Indian açcent said would fix the problem. Hung up when he started talking about charges.

Computer screen said computer was locked and call this number immediately. I DID NOT. I turned computer off, then back on and everything was fine.

Scam number on computer alerting of virus from windows

Got this number from a browser hijack from a google search ad link.  Watch those links and keep the antivirus up to date.

Attempted to get onto IKEA website. Stated computer had virus and to call the listed number. Guy with Indian accent answered. Huge SCAM!!!!!

Doing a Google search and got message about computer virus and to call this number within 5 minutes.

number popped up with doing a google search, told me don't shut the computer off and call right away.  I have shut my computer down and nothing happened negatively at all.  Called the number and it was a male of Indian accent saying his name was Michael Radar and worked with MICROSOFT.....   SCAM  I search microsoft tech number this isn't one of them.....

I googled Lowes and clicked on the link on the top of the page.

This popped up.
I went to task manager and killed firefox and then everything was back to normal.

DON'T CALL THIS NUMBER! IT'S A SCAM..

Also googled Lowes and screen immediately showed message to call Microsoft within 5 minutes. Due to my technological knowledge, I followed the instructions on the screen. I eventually was transferred to "SAM" who said he would fix my issues within 60-90 minutes, at a charge of $79.99 which included security protection for one-year. I asked numerous times if the individuals on the other line were from Microsoft and they insured me that they were. I followed thru with the charges...now realize everything I made ONE HUGE mistake. What is my next move to protect my identity? THANKS.

I was on Wal-Mart.com and received the error message as described in previous posts. I called the number listed and was told that my computer had been compromised and my credit card info had been stolen. I was told Windows blocked browsing. Thank goodness I Googled on my phone quickly and found this so I didnt proceed.

Yep.  Same happened to me while trying to go on Walmart's site from Chrome.  It locked my entire computer.  I'm calling work IT now.  I didn't call the number and my computer is taking entirely too long to restart.

Scam - Web site capture.  Do not call the listed number it is redirected to India,  Simply shut down and restart -  not problem

When I google anything now I get block with this message saying I got five minute to call. Do not turn off your computer. Someone we help you with your computer from microsoft. Scam Scam

I clicked to go on the Walmart website and got the pop up and I called and it was a man with an accent. I googled this and hung up.

Same exact thing, I asked him where he was, he said California, I asked what company, he said home land security. I hung up, restarted my browser.

Screen blocked with very official looking Microsoft logos, and a voice saying "threat has been detected" over and over. There was a box on the screen to call this number. Indian guy answered. I hung up and googled the number. They have called me back 20 times.

I got the same thing today & did the same.  Had to reboot to get rid of that message and to get my windows working again

Says my computer has been infected with a Pornographic spyware and risk ware!

I call and i so stupid i gave them access to my computer. after i while having the conversation with them i realized it was a scam, now they keep callig me.
