- HR Dept Florida| 1 replyAlthough they claim they are not, this IS a collection agency trying to get information without a signed authorization from the employee/former employee. We offered Peter Hopster (with an almost undecipherably thick accent) the opportunity to fax their request for verification of employment form and we would see what we could do. He was advised that without a signed release from the employee/former employee there might not be much we could verify. That was 45 minutes ago and no fax.

- AnonSame as lots of others, call the job looking to verify employment but don't want to provide a release. Never a native english speaker, always a thick asian accent. When I asked about a release she told me they don't have one, told her I need that to divulge any info. She asked for my first/last name. I told her no, and she hung up.

- Anonymous replies to 8442357748Did anything ever come out of it? By them actually verifying that "was You"?
The reason I ask is because this same thing had happened to me. - Anonymous replies to CHRISTY NELSONDid anything ever come it , by them actually verifying you.
The reason I ask is because this had happened to me. - So ANNOYED!Someone with what seemed to be an Indian accent called to verify employment and said the call would be monitored. I have gotten a few calls verifying employment legitimately for an actual employee, and the calls have never been monitored. When I asked who this was for, the man provided a name that I didn't recognize, and I've been with the company for many years. When I Googled the number, I found this thread.

- TinaThis phone number called my job. Thick India accent. Wanted to confirm my employment and wanted to confirm my SSN. Of coarse my employer did not confirm anything, they hung up. We have the call recorded, so I called the number back from an outside line. It was the same voice in the recorded, first call but this time her name was Crystal. She asked me were I was calling from and when I told her what state, she hung up. TOTAL SCAM CALL!!

- DeniseA guy with a heavy foreign accent called my office, our receptionist spoke with him and I heard her part of the conversation. He was calling to verify my employment. She put him on hold, I picked up the line and asked who he was calling with and he refused to give me his name or where he was calling from. Just told me that I just needed to answer yes or no about whether I worked there. I asked again where he was from, who he was calling with and he just kept saying that I just needed to answer yes or no to verify. I politely told him what he could with his phone call.

- EricaA woman called with a very thick Indian accent at my job (I am customer service) asking to speak with someone in HR regarding employment verification. I told them that we are not allowed to transfer or give out any company information, but I could take a message and have someone call back. She became very aggressive and said "No, you can just transfer me to someone for employment verification" Me: unfortunately ma'am I cannot do that, but I will be happy to take a message and pass it along." Her: no, you can give me a direct number to HR" Me: No ma'am I cannot do that. The only option is to leave a message and someone will call you back. Her: No, I need to speak with someone in HR about employment verification" Me: Ma'am the only way to speak with anyone is to leave a message and they will call you back.
She hangs up on me.
She then calls directly back and got me again. She starts the same spill over again. I advise that I had just spoken with her and the only way is to leave a message that isn't going to change no matter how many times she calls in as it is company policy. Her: what is the number to HR. Me: there is no number to HR you call our direct number, we take a message someone calls you back. Her: "give me the direct number. Me: it is the number you just called me on! Ma'am either leave a message or I am going to have to disconnect the call. She finally tells me that her name is Alice Levin and her direct number is 877-390-8597. She would not tell me anything else other than employment verification. I pass on to our HR department. Who tried to call her less than 10 mins later. When HR called the number she gave they said that they didn't even know who Alice Levin was and disconnected the call.
I then went to google with the number that came up on our caller ID 844-235-7748 and got this thread.- Call type: Scam suspicion
