Just received pop-up security warning on my MAC.  It gave me error codes and warned me that they detected various spyware activity that would effect my computer, FB, etc (scare tactics), and if I didn't call "Apple Computer" at this number 844-243-2236 my computer would be damaged and my identity compromised.  I was unable to get rid of this screen and an alarm sound would go off every time I tried to shut it down, so I had to force quit and reboot.  I googled the phone number for Apple Computer and it didn't match the above number, thus confirmed SCAM.  I've had this happen twice in the last 2-3 weeks.  Get the word out and tell your family and friends so they don't become victim to these scammers.

Same problem.  I can't reopen Chrome without the same warnings coming up.  Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it?  Rebooting did not remove it.

Just got this message also on my Mac, what I did was disable my wireless on my computer and then it allowed me to X out of the page.  Makes me angry that scammers can do this. Same thing happened to my mother on her PC awhile back and she fell for the scam except she hung up on them after they got into her computer. Since then she got a new computer

Total BS.

Called the number.  Got a company called Rush Tech in Del Rey Beach, FL.  They claim they buy phone calls from Apple, and that the calls to Apple are routed to them.  He said if I called the number back I would get another company like theirs, perhaps overseas.  He agreed that the message is pure BS.
