Don't do that at all. Don't talk to a police officer about your problems, talk to a lawyer. Go to a credit consolidation place and see if it even effects your credit at all or if you even should be paying them.

These people buy your debt for pennies on the dollar and work on commission to get you to pay a full lump some often cheaper than what you owe. But these people won't help you even if you pay it off. They won't send you a confirmation letter, it won't clear your damaged credit history, and it might get sold to another collection agency who wants to collect that amount from you again because there is no proof you paid it! Think about that, you pay it off, they say thank you, and then they call you again asking for the money, again. It is a scam, a legitimate legal scam, but a scam.

They want your money. They don't care about you. Just money. Money? Money? Wheres the money give me money!

Again, credit consolidator to consolidate your credit and do the fighting against these [***] for you. Pay someone else a lot cheaper amount to [***] these people and help you instead. It's the moral and just thing to do.

    Cellphone replies to Susan
Cancel your landline service and use a cellphone (prepaid phone are cheap and pay as you go) Android phones have a built in block feature right in the contacts menu. There are also some popular apps like TrueCaller that autoblocks a lot of known crap numbers like this already and also works as a really easy to work with call blocker.

Or there are even newer landline phones you can purchase that come with built in number blocking of like 50 numbers and some even come with skype features built into a hardy landline for much easier use of free calling.

There's also a neat trick with a Cellphone where you add them as a contact like "Spam" or whatever and then you can set your phone to block or never ring for that contact in that contacts menu. This probably works best with older phones.

Just because I work for CBV does not mean I am a terror, I'm only calling to force you to pay me. What's wrong with that???

Calling every day multiple times a day, I'm not even the person they're trying to reach. Wrong number in their system. They tell me the number is removed and won't call me, but it persists! Incredibly annoying.

Just got a call from this number; they hung up as soon as I picked up (probably because they'd rather leave a message). I am not in collections and am tired of getting calls for other people every damn day.

Caller claimed to be calling from The Royal Bank of Canada. I told him that I was not a customer of the bank and that my number is on the National Do not Call Registry. Told him not to call me again. He began arguing that my number was not registered. Told me to confirm my date of birth and place of birth. At that point I told him that I knew he was a scammer and hung up. I reported the call to the Royal Bank.

Got out of the shower to find a missed call from this number to a line I very seldom give out, and definitely wouldn't have put in the hands of a debt collector or whomever. Going to keep monitoring and send the provincial hounds after them if they keep up (that said, good luck getting agents to give you their license info, even if they're supposed to on request).

They've been constantly calling me in the last 6 months without leaving a voicemail, often after 9pm local time. Looks like the right way to fight with them is to use the online Resolution Center (Consumer Protection BC's Online Dispute Resolution tool) as they're licensed in BC by Consumer Protection BC. You can find the online complaint form here: https://www.consumerprotectionbc.ca/get-started

This supposedly will force them to answer you and behave professionally, or they could face some penalty once the licensing authority is involved.

You have to be an idiot to trust a consolidation agency. Sure they call these bottom feeders collaborators or colution experts! Even a lawyer would be cheaper lol

    pissed off
They are rude on the phone when you try to explain to them about anything. They make threats like we are going to make you homeless and hope they take your kid away... and if they knew the law if you are on any type of government assistance they are not supposed to keep calling you I understand they are trying to do there job but there is a lot nicer ways of talking to people and not making threats they might actual get further a head just saying
