My father received a call from this number. He spoke to them briefly and they left him a message for me along with a case number. I called and spoke to my "case worker" who asked me if I'd been served with papers. Told him that I did not and got this number from my father. I asked him where I was calling and all he said was "litigation offices". He proceeded to ask me security questions to ensure he was speaking to the correct person before relasing information on my case. Most questions were confirming things,  i.e. he provided the month and year I was born and told me to verify the day. I answered 5 questions (maiden name, previos addresses, current address which I refused to verify, and both of my parents name) in this manner before I began to feel uncomfortable. I asked him again where I was calling and what is this for. He rudely told me to let him finish and not to interrupt him again. I told him he was being rude and quite unprofessional. He responded with, "You're the one that's being rude interrupting me." I expressed that I don't feel comfortable verifying any further. He responded telling me that this is public information and he is providing 95% of the information to me anyways. That's where I let him know I will be ending the conversation and he said, "Fine!".

If you can't tell me why you're calling me,  I do not need to verify anything. I don't blindly give out personal information. And the rude approach really raised a red flag. Legitimate companies normally are more professional than this. I truly believe this is an attempt to commit some kind of fraud.

Don't release any of your information to this number!!

This person (same man with a heavy accent) has called me 5 times a day for the past 2 weeks and has also called my daughter.  He always leaves the same message with a "case number".  This is a collection company trying to collect on my exhusband's 20 year old debt.  Do not speak with them, and please do not be scared that this is the court system.  If you are being sued by someone, they dispatch police to serve your papers or a professional to your home.  The courts do not use the telephone.

This company is using illegal means to collect current information on you so that they can reset the time clock on the expired debt.  Never verify anything when someone calls you.  Ask for the phone number and call them back, after you search out their number and the information associated with it.

They call and say that they are filing papers with the clerks office.I got a call last week the guy states Litigation dept I said, oh what law firm? The guy was completely rude and kept asking if I knew a person that I didn't. I advised him to take me off of his list, he said OH NO this is a legal matter and all the information will be sent to the clerks office. I said well then go right ahead, sorry that doesn't scare me. I called the number again, but blocked my number and it was an apartment complex in MI, which I think they are stealing their number to use, interesting.
Needless to say I didn't receive a call again, but my husband and daughter did again today. They called my number and left a message for my husband, dumb [***]. I called them back and again they stated it was the litigation dept. I asked to speak to the supervising litigation attorney, weird they didn't put them on. I told them to remove me, my daughter and husband off of their calling list. They keep calling about some person we don't know and they keep saying we're related. I advised them that they are clearly trying to collect a debt. You never announce who you are, what company and what your intent is, violation!! I had to ask and told them that if they call my family again I will be suing them for every violation that they broke, which are tons the way they are handling this!!!  Crossing my fingers, but I think that did the trick ;)
