Caller gives name as Evedeana Lugo and says she is calling from Suntrust Merchant Services (844-271-7549 x55097).  I called Suntrust directly with the number I know is legit, and asked if they knew about this phone number.  Suntrust Customer Services were not able to confirm if this is really from Suntrust.

This might be a scam.

this number called my husbands cell phone saying they needed our bank account info because we were a preferred customer. When questioned they said they were with First Data the credit card processor.

JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER  STATING THEY WERE CALLING ON BEHALF OF FIRST DATA OUR CREDIT CARD PROCESSING COMPANY.  SHE WANTED TO UPDATE HER INFO.  SOON I DETECTED THIS WAS NOT CORRECT!  I HUNG UP ON HER.

Many calls from this same number claiming to be MidFirst bank and First Data wanting to update our machine. I called First Data to give them the number that keeps calling and its not them.

I recieved a call stating they were with bank of ozarks and first data and wanted to tell me about the new microchip cards and that our machine didn't have a pin pad to accept them. If she was from our bank and first data she would have known that we did. I hung up with her and called my bank and first data to inform them of this number to make sure my accounts were not hacked.  Please be careful!!!!

Person that called said he was with First Data Processing and that we needed to buy a new machine despite the one they sent us just being 11 months old. When asked for a call back number rather than First Data it was EMPS. 1-844-271-7549 Extension 55087 ask for Barry

This is a Fraud Call

Called here and went into a pitch about credit card processing, and we need a new machine to be in compliance. I hung up and blocked the number.

They are really who they say they are. They must brand legally by contract which bank the client was signed up under originally.

They will only ask for you bank account info if you are doing a lease, because that is a financial contract. If you do a purchase they draft it out of the account and you don't have to provide any further information. If you do a purchase they will only ask for an electronic signature.

It is a new department in an effort to have better customer service with FDC clients. FDC is under new leadership and are trying out more by telephone now.

you people are crazy why would different people call you and say the same thing
these people have your MID so how are they hackers? they work for First Data and
have to call on behalf of the banks. its your business that will get breached not theirs

It is a real company. Spoke with a nice girl who took the time to confirm all of my information in order for me to know that she was really with First Data. She also helped me pick a equipment that would be perfect for my company. I received my equipment in the time that she stated and it was First data that drafted the lease payment amount from my banking account.  First Data is a very big company that has been around for years. I've been with First Data for over 10 years and there has been many times they added departments to the company the more they grew.

All I'm saying is I do not doubt one bit who they are, I have my new equipment. If you have not updated your information in years, then they will ask and update it for you. I was not asked for any banking information by phone,  everything was done for me and when I received it in my email she already had majority of my information filled out on the documents so it would be easier for me.  I doubt that a scammer would have all my information like she did.  She even knew how much I processed and made a year.

Everything is not always a scam. I got my equipment and now I am protected from the real scammers. If you continue to think the way you all are doing you will miss the help that these people are trying to provide to you. Your company will get breached if your terminal is not up to date. I've been in business long enough to know not to put my business at risk because of fear thinking that everyone is out to get me. If anyone is that afraid of getting scammed, then you should be the first ones calling them, so they could help protect your business from the real scammers.

I have a restaurant and I leased a Clover station. I love it! Everyone is not out to get us people.

Ive been getting these calls everyday , they say theyb are suntrust merchant and that i need to have my cc machine updated , they arr con`s, thewy are not with suntrust , do not answer & do not !!! Give any names or info !!! Beware !!!!

First Data just like many other Credit Card processing companies prey on uniformed merchants like me. they pressure you to lease the machine for 4 years. if you purchase it $940.00  that you could actually get one for $350.00. If you try to break out of the leasing agreement and get out of it, you still have to pay of the remainders of 48 month payment which turns out to be alot more than $940, and on top of that you must purchase insurance on top of that!, mine somehow turnout to be $1600!. So Be very careful dealing with these people.
