Called my wife with a completely fake recording saying they are the IRS and we committed tax fraud. Called them back from my phone and a girl answered and then hung up.

This exact same thing happened to me?

"Your tax which you are hiding from the federal government this needs to be rectified immediately so do return the call as soon as you receive the message 844-284-8607. Again 844-284-8607.Thank you."

Just received the same message as above on my cell phone which is on the no call list.

The IRS NEVER EVER calls on phone. NEVER. This is totally fraud & per FBI web site says to not call number back & not to press any number to opt out (if given that option). Blocked this number through Verizon Wireless site. They had nerve to call twice today! Scumbags!!

I received 3 calls today so when i got a chance to return the call someone with a foreign accent said IRS, when i laughed at him he said F@#k you and hung up on me lol.

Received call 8.5.16.  Same as everyone else here.  IRS fraud, etc. Reported to and recording forwarded to IRS Criminal Investigations Division.

Automated voice saying something about IRS fraud. Then when I call back, it never connects. Seems like some kimd of scam seeing as others have had this same problem

My heart dropped when I got this call. The person transferred me to some lady for a few minutes and they both started cursing at me. Thank you all for the previous comments.

Same as everyone else. Tried to call the number back before the voicemail came through but the call was dropped. 8/6/16. Was going to block but I saw someone reported to IRS fraud division. How did you do that?

This is a scam. I've blocked the number.

Callers are hard core Indian and Pakistani scammer/extortionists who ignore all US laws.  Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.

Received 2 calls this am from 844-284-8607 claiming I was hiding information from the IRS and had a federal warrant out for my arrest.  Called the number back and was hung up on twice!
