Calls multiple times a day asking for my husband.

Something about a litigation and I can call this number back or I can press one to talk to somebody and when I pressed one it played some music then it went to voicemail and I hung up

I got the same pending litigation call and the way the number showed on my phone was VietNam
Don’t these scumbag scammers ever learn that 90% of the population is on to them?

I also received a call and they said there was a Case pending against me, this has been happening for some time now how can we all get together and file suite?

word by  word  ..  I wish they would  give the name of the  office !!  when I tried  to call back from a generic  work number , it was "not in service".

They said I owe the money to Meridian bank… I have never had an account there.. When I tried to talk the woman got nasty and started yelling that I shouldn’t talk over her I hung up.

This sounds like a legal scam. You can tell by the jargon-babble.
They would need to submit their requests to me in writing - something we can use in their court proceedings. I can't do any legal business on the phone with strangers. Silly caller!

This number called me and when I called it back they said that they were preparing a lawsuit against me for Arizona swim and fitness membership account that I opened 5 years ago for $9,000. I live in Arizona and I have never even heard of Arizona swimming fitness I told them that they could go [***] themselves in court because I'm not going to be there. I have no idea what they're talking about the woman was very aggressive and sounded like she knew what she was talking about but this is a scam

Well, if someone does sue you and you don't show up then they win automatically and get a default judgement.  Not a very sound legal strategy.

When I told them to serve me or else, they got really nasty and said they were reporting me for a hate crime.  LOL!  Please do, so when we go to court I can identify who you are and sue you for violating the FDCPA.  Scammers!

When hatred of extortionist fake debt collectors becomes a crime, I'm relocating to China or North Korea where the laws are more humane.

They called me today. Same script, word for word! About a credit card that was charged off 10 years ago! SCAMMERS! I blocked them.

That would be an accounting term.  You still actually owe the debt.  What is illegal would be the threats of litigation.  That would be an FDCPA violation.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
