called revenue canada directly  no such number

Got an automated call at 11:25am on Monday Feb 8th.
Told me I owe CRA money and that legal action would be taken against me if they did not hear back from either myself or my attorney. Furthermore, said my assets and bank account would be siezed! Not the first time I've received this type of call. Just ignore and don't respond! Scam!

I just got this same call 3 times, this is so annoying, its lucky that I happen to always google search these strange numbers or I would have panicked. Too bad these can't be stopped and charged.

Received two messages claiming that its from the CRA - this is a scam

I received a message from 844-385-9041 telling the the same thing as everyone above.  I decided to call them back because I figured it was a scam.  They told me that as a result of CRA audit I was being sued by CRA for back taxes.  I told him that he was full of crap and he told me to contract the RCMP and hung up on me.  I called back and he didn't answer the phone this time.

Received two calls from this number claiming the exact same thing as the other posts.  If CRA wanted something from you, first of all they would notify you by mail and not leave any such information on a message machine.  I was a little panicked myself. Good thing I found this site.  Thank you.

Received messages from 844-385-9041 saying I owed CRA and even threatening legal action on my assets and properties. Good to find this website with same experience.

It is obviously a recorded message. Also, had three calls on the same day last week from 450-823-0414.  Local police advised that RCMP already had that number, so they probably have this one as well.

Same thing for me. As soon as I asked a question, he told me he wasn't able to provide the date of my NOA.    After the next question, he hung up.

I received the same cal. I did not call them back, but I'm going to report the call to the RCMP.

Just received two phone calls this morning, one at 8:32 and one at 10:49 stating that it was CRA  threatening legal action and that they will be contacting my bank to freeze my account. Tried to call the number back...bogus....

I just received a call with a computer generated voice telling me the same thing. Thankfully it's still on my answering machine in case the police want to hear it. I have no debts & I certainly don't owe any taxes. How some people sleep at night is beyond me... no conscience I guess.

same as everyone else. phoned back, response was "Canada Revenue", asked why they called me, they hung up. have received 3 of these calls over the past few days, dealt with them before. since I told them to take a hike last time I guess they figured I was harassing them instead of the other way around. attempted to fill out the CRA scam portion at the CRA site but it quickly became obvious I was wasting my time

SB sums up exactly what transpired when they called me 3x .On the last call Sam Johnson from the CRA  indicated at the beginning the call is being recorded............ So let the games begin..........I acted concerned , wanted to settle so on and so forth.I strung them along and said, by the way this call has been recorded from the time I picked up and this is the RCMP and we have a trace on your location,,,, phone click / disconnect on the other end. I called them back ..........the line kept ringing..........one way to get rid of them and I also reported it to our local authorities.

Recieved that call here in Moose Jaw that i owe CRA and if i dont call the number iam subject to legal consequences.

Got the automated call telling me that the Canada Revenue Agency was calling, that I owed back taxes, that I was about to have a lien put against my assets, etc, yada, yada, yada. The quality of the recording was so jerky that it was obviously not official. Check directly with the CRA--do not return calls to numbers left on recordings like this.

I have received three calls from 844-385-9041 claiming they are calling from the CRA. Called them back and as soon as I asked a few questions they hung up. Tried to phone Canadian Anti-fraud but they were not taking calls. Looked the area code up and it does not exist. It is for fraud calls. There must be some way of stopping these crooks.
